abco: 1 Yeah i did sometimes, but my last region was by no means accurate, since i only aimed to create the feel of Hong Kong, I'll make a more authetic hk next time 2 I used a map with 16 large cities (4x4), I think i'll try a slightly bigger one next time, maybe 5x5 Thanks for your praise~ and good luck on your project, looking forward to see it on mcj

Sorry for missing for so long~ This will be the last post of this CJ and will mark the end of this Journal. I want to Thank you all for your great comments and support Hong Kong, by carlching, is finally, and officially, finished. I've filled in all the blanks that I previously left out, this city is totally playable, if you want to download this region, tell me~ I'll get it uploaded. I owe my thanks to Lambsquirter for creating such a great building - the central plaza. This screenshot of the victoria harbour is almost photorealistic ! I Love this view If you want to play my region, post a comment~ So, this is it, guys~ Since this remake of Hong Kong is imperfect in many ways, I'm planning to create a better one - I'll 100% follow the map this time and try to make everything as real as possible, the project will start in days, I'll start a new CJ then, so stay tuned ----- new mods I've used in my city : Cerulean Textures V101 CENTRAL PLAZA by Lambsquirter v. 2 ----- Bye bye!

Hi~ I did a remake of Hong Kong as well, I'm so envy look at your city, the scale is so accurate and you recreated the terrain perfectly Making Hong Kong in simcity 4 is so difficult and you nearly did it! It'd be really good if you'd finish the unfinished parts in your map~ anyway, awesome work !!

Thanks guys Regarding the tunnel, using my case for example, you have to rise a mountain in the harbour (pretty crazy huh?), it's easy by using the god mode cheat, then, build a tunnel through it. Finally, lower the mountain so you can see the water again, but becareful not to destory the entrances (this is tricky). Try it out

Wow! Haven't thought that anyone would wanna remake Adelaide! It's SOOOO Cool!!! I Study in the Adelaide Uni, and I love the city as much as I love your remake. It's the most loveable city in my heart, very clean and the people are so nice. Your transportation map looks reallly good! Good luck! I'll definitely keep an eye on this one

Wow! I've been ReAallly lazy! This is a very late update but better than none! I've been busy with my Uni studies so didn't have much time to work on my Region. Im soo sorry! Also I forgot to take my Simcity 4 CD with me when i made my trip back to Hong Kong last christmas... Nevertheless, I had a great chance in going to places and spotting reality problems with my remake. For instance, I found out Tsing Yi island has 3 bridges connecting to Kowloon instead of 2, and buses exiting Tsing Ma Bridge turn right into a tunnel which is totally left out in my remake. Anyway, I managed to squeeze sometime in fixing some errors and recreating the Hong Kong Island Skyline. But im really sorry to find that there are virtually none Skyscrapers of the city in the exchange!! Hong Kong has the most beautiful skyline in the world (according to skyscraper.com) and is the home of many magnificent pieces of architecture, BAT guys~ you should really work on some of them. For example the design of Central Plaza and The Centre is quite Unique, they should be good BATs if made. Anyway I did what I can to make the city as realistic as possible. Also I've found some major problems in Shatin region, seems I have to demolize the whole region and rework. Overlooking the whole region, POP is ~1.44M, Shatin's under construction, Ma Wan (the little island which connects the Tsing Ma Bridge and Kup Shu Muen Bridge) is developed; Tsing Yi's road network's refined; indexes are on the raise, and most of the cities are earning big money. I've tried my best to recreate the harbour, but I can hardly find substitutes for important structures such as HSBC HQ, Central Plaza, and most importantly 2 IFC Please tell me what you think Thanks!

--- UPDATE --- Here's a little update on Hongkong The Airport Here's the Hong Kong International Airport, the best in the world. My recreation is nothing compared to the real thing! You NEED to see it with your own eyes Outside Airport The Dragon Air and Cathay Pacific Office towers just outside the Airport Tung Chung Tung Chung is a newly developed town near the airport, here's a shot of a public housing estate in Tung Chung. The Airport Transportation The HK Internation Airport is located far from the city Center, there is a high capacity road and railway system connecting the two. (My) Hong Kong as today Enjoy

Wow thanks guys for your enthusiasm in this, Im realllly happy to know that you love this To spicytimothy I miss Hong Kong alot too! It's such an exciting place isn't it? I think your home's somewhere in the "main residential area on the Hong Kong island" picture, I have a good friend living in Tai Koo too. The subway system's not following the real one, but i tried my best to put every real station in place. All the detailed parts in my city are all the place I used to travel alot. And Im building this city without looking at a map Is there gonna be a 2IFC? i would certainly put it in if there's one around. I've reserved a 4X4 lot for it. I haven't been to chai wan alot, but i'll study To joerg The airport is already done, im planning to show it in the next update It looks OK but certainly not as grand as the real one. Yeah the longest suspension bridge now is in Japan(i think), thanks for correcting To norwoodman I'll try that but all the residential demand's hitting the bottom in Harbour district... so im quite worried Again thank you soooo much for your support, please do visit this thread again

---UPDATE--- Sorry for the late update here are some pictures that would bring you closer to my Hong Kong VICTORIA PARK This is the largest park in Hong Kong, it has two soccer fields and a big open grass area (which is very rare in this "skyscraper forest"). It's been the gathering ground for various activities and political movements. Just before I left Hong Kong I participated a demonstration which was started in this park. KOWLOON PARK A beautiful park with lots of facilities like themed playgrounds, indoor/outdoor swimming pool (which I could not recreate ). Just outside the park is The Park Lane, a very popular shopping street. The recreation of the surrounding of the park is very realistic, you'll know what I mean if you've been to the park EAST HONG KONG ISLAND The main residential area on the Hong Kong island. Very densed, mostly occupied by mid-wealth citizens (in real life and in game) while the rich live on the hills. RICHY RICH Heres a residential highrise complex occupied by the rich guys, a very typical complex includes several very tall buildings, swimming pools, club house, tennis court etc. THE POOR An estate on Tsing Yi. Here's where a typical poor Hongkongese lives, a public estate. It doesn't have any ... decent facilities and the apartments are so cramped up you can always see what your neighbour's doing in their place through your windows HARBOUR Finally a beautiful harbour view. The development's strangled and I can't get more skyscrapers to appear Have to work harder I guess Anyway... Thanks for your support

Hi Chan! I've seen your work, it's amazing, especially the road network. I can tell that you've spent alot of time on it Thanks for your region config files first of all~ Actually my hongkong's composed of 16 large cities as well but the difference is that i've cropped the region jpg image, so mine is about 30% larger than yours However the Hong Kong Island's still too small i think, It's quite hard to plan the streets. If you do start a new project on Hong Kong please do let me know! I'll be looking forward to your work
