Very natural! Both the at city level and region (location)! Although I don't belive there would have been a six-lane motorway to such a city in Norway...

They don't have to have a new language, but it has evolved considrably. However, latin letters have survived a thousand years now, but the trend is less text and more pictograms (signs, etc.).

Why not move all the area-intensive businesses to the white box instead (like banking, finance and all those other businesses that are dead at night), and let people live at the waterfront? Then is it possible to make an realistic, large airport not far from the CBD, and boast of the good connections between the CBD and the airport I'd be very happy for that (but then again, I'm not running for mayor...)

RHF: 26 gates, that's 6.5 times more than mine! Small and comfortable... Anyway, take a look at quert's airport for the terminal building and plane stands. The Istrine City Airport and Harbour. The airport has nine plane stands, and space for three large ships and two fast-freight. The area is governd by Istrine Port Agency. Some space for containers... And two beatuies of the sea. Up to nine jets, varying in size from the Embraer ERJ-135 to the Airbus 318 can be accomodated at the terminal. The private terminal would probably be the first meeting with Istrine for most of you, wouldn't it?

Voltaire; how do you do this (Boarding the large plane without jetbridges): But I have to thank you a tousand times for being able to make planestands with the BAe. However, if you're going to BAT planes, would perhaps a Boeing 737 or Dash-8 to replace the BAe be more needed than post-millenium planes.

I needed another airport in my region, it's getting pretty big. Not a big international one, but rather a small, cozy regional airport with about 30 movements per day. I hope I can make the terminal layout tomorrow. Flights goes to the cities in the region: Sokhumi and Istrine in Abkhazia, Tbilisi, Moscow, Kiev, in addition to Baku, Erbil and Odessa. Planes using the airport is the Boeing 737, MD-80, Avro RJ, Dash-8 and Fokker 50 (only the Avro turns up in the pictures) The runway is about 2000 m. With few movements, there's no need for excessive taxiways. The terminal has four gates - for baggage claim, you'll have to go to the ends: To the left for domestic flights, and right for all other. For general avition is there four parking spots. Space for one private jet and a cargo plane (although larger private jets have used the cargo stand in the past). Cargo department to the left (Overnite warehouse). Cargo companies still uses old prop planes.

I just saw the CRJ - I love it! I'd like to see it replace the Avro, as it isn't that much used, at least not in Europe.

I'll be looking forward to see more of the city! My own airport, Sokhumi International (rwy 2400 m, read more about how I lay out airports below) But about the airport: Never forget that they eat space! Not just the runway length, but terminals, maintenance, hangars and so on needs huge amount of free space. I myself shortens the runway length when I make airports (pretending the tiles are 24x24 m. instead of 16x16 m.). You must first decide between a major interational airport (rwy 3000+; B747, B777, A340), airport serving mainline aircrafts (rwy ca. 2000 m; B737, A320, MD-80) or regional airport (rwy ca. 1000 m takes Dash 8-Q300 and smaller, rwy 1500 m. takes Dash 8-Q400, BAe 146-200/Avro RJ85 [the regional jet in SC], A318). You seem to have settled on the regional airport with long runways; see the map of London City Airport for how to build an airport in a crowded location. You can also read about what types of aircrafts that are allowed at LCY.

Ah.... Trees.... Narya; There can never be enough trees, a lot of trees are necessary to make a map realistic.

It certainly is. For myself, I divide the rwy length by 2, and add one half of of the remainder to get the length of the rwy in SC (Example: I want to build a 2 000 metres rwy, divide by 2 (= 1 000) and adds one half (500) to the number, thus making my real life 2 000 m. rwy 1 500 m. (or ca. 95 tiles) in SC. However, your airport does not meet the new European safety regulations: 300 m. extra runway in both ends (if you use the one which doesn't have the blast pad you get almost enough (although I cannot remember if that is by using my measurings or not), and 75 m. free-of-obstacles at the side.

The numbers show which direction the runway is, in degrees (only tens ar used - e.g. rwy 04 is 40 degrees off north). If you're landing at rwy 04, you come in from south before landing, continuing northwards on the runway. About the length of 1 800 m., only the terminal building seems a bit out of place (such a large terminal for a short runway). Anyway, your runway could serve B737s without problems, and for short runways we always have the BAe 146! (Why haven't anyone made some other regional planes to replace it??? The third busiest London airport, City (LCY) has a runway of 1 500 m., and serves aircrafts up to the size of an A318 (ca. 100 passengers, a A320 derivative) - when LCY expanded it's runway from 900 to 1 100 m., it was especially for the BAe 146 (or Avro RJ85 as it's called in SC), which expanded the range from Paris/Amsterdam all the way to Rome.

How is the war going? And, what does the common Gold Depran thinks about it? I bet there are a few mister Burns' tapping their fingers right now. And hasn't Gold Depra some interests in the Former Movian Empire? As a big, neo-con state some collapsed countries would be natural to exploit.
