It's more of a spin-off than a sequel.

I think rather than having dozens of different intersection types, you need to come up with a system that lets you create any of them. Ideally, there would be a set of road that can be laid out "out of the box" (like the ones in SimCity 4) but for players who so desire, could be customized to greater detail once they've been laid out.

Cheers. I'm a software developer at an engineering firm. I've been working on an ideal city builder for about a year now...sadly, I am not an artist, so my biggest problem is coming up with art assets for the game. More on this in the future...

I wish I could help you with this one, but that's just strange...

SCS, as it is the only of those two options that will be out at Christmas '07!

Check your detail settings? Some of those things disappear if you turn some of the detail levels down. ...you can get to the planter under the terrain painter menu.

Are there premade cities and scenarios?

Nope. There are none. -
Well, if the point of a city journal is to tell a story about a city, a tool that gives you more control over the city's construction will naturally make it easier to tell the story that you want to tell. It makes it easier to bring the personality of the city out - at the sacrifice of realism.

It got beat by The Sims 2 Teen Style Stuff. 'Nuff Said.

I actually think SCS is better at doing things like city journals. Just my take.

It's quite comparible to City Life, with more flexibility and imagination in some aspects, and less in others. Don't get it expecting the sequel to Simcity 4.
