chicago, corupted goverment, with major crime, murder, drugs, and proverty on the southside( aka south chicago) trust me you do not want to live there, there is also some segregation, since south chicago is mostly black, that causes more promblems, and many people in the cities goverment did nothing until the 30th kid/ teenager finally died due to gang related violance, and school shootings, also everyone of those kids, or almost all them were black, it's really sad since the 30th kid(forgot name) died protecting a girl on the bus where the 30th shooting took place, a moment of silence please

who knows this could turn out like coke, along time ago coke came out with a new recipe, and when they sold it it floped, later they brought back the old coke and sales where better than before, this could be simcity, if this flops, and the true simcity 5 comes out than it could do the samething, ea is hungry for money, and we dont know exactly how they plan to get the money

i honestly dont see this as a sims game, or a simcity, as a spin-off of both really, but i honestly think they badly mixed it, and was a bad idea to test it as the sequal to simcity 4, mabey as a seprate line of games, im sure reactions would be far less negitive, in the sims you have 8 sims at most to look after, in simcity you have 1-1,000,000+ to look after, also i would find it boring to have to plop everything, zoning you get to see your city rise up from the ashes, im sure many people wish that the you could have a huge metroplex, but the main focus of many fans anger is the fact the there taking the focus, and soul that the other simcity games had

i would say, casual to hard-core fans, hard-core to casual fans, there basicly making it casual to casual fans, and casual to hard-core fans, we have to admit the game was somewhat hard at first, also i like "SimCity Pirates" the best

@Bookworm: @Ntq$310: That is your opinion. However, I think there are plenty of defeneses for this game, which is why I posted this thread. And as far as don't judge a book by its cover, tell me, if people said that this new 'computer' idea sounded rediculous, stupid, and expensive back when the first computers were being developed, only on the fact that they took up space, would we be here now? well were not talking about a computers are we, please remember this is a old game, it came out in 1989, this game has many diffrent versions, simcity 2000,simcity 3000,simcity 4,and then the disaster that will be simcity societies, besides put the computer in scs situation, they were dumbing down the computer, taking away the new technology, i would think bill gates would be outraged, like we are now, and there are defences for the game, they just all suck! also just because it has the name simcity dosent mean i have to keep myself inline about it, like it, hate it, or do anything about the game, because all i know this dose not deserve to be called simcity, also if this is a spin-off i dont care about it, and just to say the game dosent look that bad, but it's not the simcity i wanted, or possibley 100,000's of thousands of other simcity fans wanted eathier, and dont we have a right to bash the game, it's not like anything good, or bad will come out of it, besides a thread closing, and i agree with every singal word KCookies said, the simcity all of us came to know, and loved will die, because they put too much social crap, in a city building game, our simcity. and to everyone out there you can love it, hate, wait to see it, but this game we know as scs dose not deserve to be called simcity. and thats final

Bookworm, ill be a little more clear, there's no GOOD defence for the game, remember i said good, that means there are defences for the game, but none of them supply a good arguement, many of your defences like we should be happy there is another simcity, and dont judge a book by the cover, stink honestly, i think i can speak for all of us, that we were happy when we heard about the game, but now that we know more about the game, what is their to be happy about, there putting a scam with the name simcity, and societies on it, and by what ive seen, i would of wanted to die peacefully, befor going out like this

im sorry but we would need more than a 1000 signatures, we need much more, ea cares about money, and a 1000 people couldnt make much diffrence in ea, since ea is greedy

i thought udi was a good idea, just badly made, i would love udi at ground level. or at many diffrent views, it was hard to do missions because cars appeared right on top of me all the time, and hard to feel the traffic of a normal city because cars would dissapear when you got close, with a few fixes udi could have been the next big thing, but in simcity societies it dosent look like they would have a airport/seaport, so far it olny looks like cars are there, and weve olny seen a limeted amount of cars, so they probaly wouldnt have enough opitions to it, alos take road textures into play, it could be to complicated

zoning is one of the best parts of the game, sure i think alot of people want better zoning, and more zones, but watching your city rise up from the ground just puts a warm feeling in my heart, also it would take way to long to plop a entire city, it also makes the game more realistic, and i cant believe they would do that, when more than 90% of the community wants zoning
