Thanks for the triple WOWs guys!! Mikeaut1 ~ What you are seeing here is a preview of the Modular Amusement Park Project . In this CJ I will be showcasing new lots and the full potential of the project. Notifications for release will be announced here and in the official MAPP thread. My contribution to the project is to package and design the lots. Basically I will be shaping the layout of the project and am responsible for the lot making and some modding. Here is an overview of the terrain I generated for Ampark City: 1-3: http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/4385/amp032nd.jpg align=baseline> 1-4 ~ Under the shadow of the cloud ~ The spirits in the sky said let this be a place of long lines and bubble gum spattered walkways. http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/521/amp040mn.jpg align=baseline>

That's just the way it is. Some lots you can not overide. By using save as you will generate a new lot.

Great job!!! I bet it looks really nice in game! Your work is very creative ~ looking forward to more updates! -
Nice job everyone! jackel.22 & jaqulina ~ Thanks for the nice coments! davejowsey ~ I spent hours foraging through Japanese websites and snagged the ship. The lot was made with many Japanese props. Follow my custom lot thread to see when I release the lot or for more info. Fox ~ Nice work! I dig the night shots and the Parliment House pic! Here is my latest. The custom made lots feature Gascooker's Baltic Flour Mill & SG's Auto Factory. http://img325.imageshack.us/img325/7246/bp870yg.jpg align=baseline> http://img415.imageshack.us/img415/4328/bp920ro.jpg align=baseline>

Awesome Slideshow of Shanghai Night Shots
MasterPlanMan posted a topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Thought I would share this slideshow I stumbled upon. I really dig designing my SC4 cities for nightime views and found this to be inspirational. I hope you enjoy the pics of this exploding modern metropolis. Click on the image to start the show. http://leonardo.cs.berkeley.edu/nhz/pics_gallery/shanghai/001_G.sized.jpg align=baseline> -
Very well done! Your sloping skills are excellent and I like the way you utilized the parking lots and entrances! Your embankment use is done just right ~ not too much in the way of overkill. This looks like it could be a great CJ. Keep up the good work!
-
Very nice!!! You are off to a great start! Like the others I really dig the way you layed out the roads and you have a great selection of mid rise buildings popping up. I look forward to seeing more!
-
Very nice! I really like the way you layed things out and those fabulous ships are iceing on the cake. I also like the small boat harbor with the night lighting! Can't wait to see more!

Things are going pretty good for me although I have been away from SC4 for awhile due to the transit strike during the week. As a result I am spending the holiday weekend in the big apple. Count me as one of the many that walked the Brooklyn Bridge to get to my job each day. The problem was those who were supposed to work with me could not get into Manhatten till well into the afternoon so here I am. I should be back home playing SC4 by later in the week and loading the ship-building lots is a high priority.

Very nice work on the harbor so far! The Plamer Shipping Co. of Glen Harbor would like to engage in trade with Simtropia and have elected to send one of their cargo ships in hopes of reaching an agreement. You should see the good ship Yashimaro appearing on your harbor control tower's radar screen soon. Anyway congrats on your awards and a big thank you for the harbor control tower ~ its one heck of a BAT.

Thank you everyone for the nice comments! Looks like this thread was a good idea! Voar Tok ~ Thanks! Hope the pics worked out! Look forward to seeing your CJ and congrats on the Trixie! jarnomiedema ~ Good to see you stop by my friend and congrats on your award! I have you marked down for the lots. 0tep ~ Thanks for commenting. Glad you like the lots and I have you marked down. jeronij ~ Thank you for taking the time to comment and congrats on your Trixies! I really dig your BAT work so far! Hope you enjoy the Seikan Ferry Terminal lot and I have you listed for the others! jacqulina ~ Yet another Trixie winner ~ congrats and nice to see you here! pnorrell ~ Nice to see you stop in! I have you listed for the lots. I tried that service ~ the problem is the link expires after a week and that makes it more of hassle for me. My e-mail service stores files indefinately so all I have to do is foward earlier messages. I just can't go over 3 MBs per file. Sorry everyone the ship-building lots are not ready yet. I am very busy preparing for a trip and should be back by the end of next week. I will then get them ready as soon as possible ~ maybe by next friday! Until then peeps don't be bashful ~ if there is something here you like just ask. Feel free to make requests for upcoming lots as well! Cheers, ~MPM

Looks like my first post here was right on ~ you have the most unique region around! Congrats on the award you definately deserve it!

Date: 5/11/2005 3:29:26 PM Author: calm_blue_sea I have a very simple request: a single tile lot divided diagonally with grass on one side and sidewalk on the other. This could be used to eliminate the staircase effect you get with diagonal roads and avenues. A set of them could be made to use in different situations. If you have no clue what I'm talking about, ririri has already done this for rails: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=Lot&Str=diagonal%20rail%20park This simple lot should just be cosmetic, it would improve the look of the game immensely!quote> I made quite a few different kinds with prop families and street lights. Ill let you know when I release them to the STEX

I apologize if I discouraged you hahaha. Now that I saw some reall city building going on I am ready to make a couple of comments. It is pretty amazing the way you have the commercial growing like that and had me fooled into thinking everything was plopped. I would take advantage of that growth and start bulldozing duplicates and make historical the buildings you want to keep. Looks like you have enough $$$ stacked up. Definately hit the STEX - there are many BATs that have comparable jobs to the Maxis in game buildings and have a New York look. Good luck and I am sorry my first post was not that favorable.

Congratulations on the Trixie ALek. You definately derserved it!

The Official 2005 Golden Llama Awards Discussion
MasterPlanMan replied to Dirktator's topic in Simtropolis Related
Congratulations to all the winners! I thought the results were pretty much right on and all those who won were quite deserving! Special congrats go to aleking's The Brastoval Bay Area for most Awe Inspiring City, Cholatemax285's Green Depra , for most Unique Region and jarnomiedema's The Empire of Chaumont for best Alternate To History Journal. ~ thank you for your support and enjoy your well deserved awards! And of course what would the STEX be without Simgoober's BATs ! I am happy to have participated and thank everyone for the several nominations I recieved ~ I really was not expecting that! I feel honored to have been nominated and recognized ~ thanks! -
I guess its hard to take this CJ seriously. It appears to be an attempt at some humor IMO. Check out the city stats ~ most the buildings were plopped commercial the rest industrial. There are hundreds of thousands of jobs but zero residents. Maybe its a young kid just getting started? The user name makes me suspicious though. I am going to just ignore this one until some real attempts at city building are being made.

ssggeo ~ They are from a Japanese BAT'er named NOB and I think they are in the others section of his site . He continues to put out some nice stuff! Ship-building lot #2 is finished. Here is how they both look togethor: 12-31: http://img343.imageshack.us/img343/5497/bp755xz.jpg align=baseline> 12-32: http://img343.imageshack.us/img343/8672/bp767wj.jpg align=baseline> 12-33: http://img343.imageshack.us/img343/2952/bp770lx.jpg align=baseline> 12-34: http://img343.imageshack.us/img343/7289/bp784os.jpg align=baseline> I will let you all know when they will be available so stay tuned!

Nice restart! I like the layout of the industrial zone and those seawalls ~ have not seen those before ~ they look really nice there. The only thing I would do is doze 2 of the MPR metal duplicates and make historical the other and so on (I use a money park as my main cheat so cost is not an issue). This region looks like its going to a good one! I will be watching its development.

The Empire of Chaumont - 'Delightfully Oppressive'
MasterPlanMan replied to jarnomiedema's topic in SC4 City Journals
Splendid updates Jarno! I really dig your use of the GLR. Nice use of the emnakments along the water front the diagonals make the bridges stand-out nicely. Like the others ~ I like the rows of townhomes. To top it all off those mosaics are inspiring!
