  1. Man all that content, and so little space to actually build it on.
  2. I think it's impossible. There's not enough space, and some structures (airport, tourist buildings, recycling center, etc) are huge area wise. Good luck all the same
  3. I pre-ordered at the last minute, literally a day or two before release, because, hey, I was excited for a new Simcity, and I figured I could get past the Always Online and the Small Maps. Of course, I was faced with the initial wash of problems of not even being able to connect to the game for a few days, which infuriated me to no end. Once I was able to play, I chugged through it, having some fun with the game, until something started making the experience frustrating, most likely traffic or neighbor connection issues. The most fun was one city where there was little traffic at the single border connection. I played for about a month or two after release. Then...well, things just became boring. I've barely touched the game since. I haven't bought the DLC for the game beyond what came with the Digital Deluxe edition, and I don't see myself buying them ever. The game has basically told me to never, ever pre-order an EA game ever again, and the Maxis brand does not stand for quality like it used to.
  4. Oh hey look, it's not working. What a surprise.
  5. house of worship?

Intelligent So...there's absolutely no intelligent towns ever? Sheesh. Anyway, I'm glad to hear they're introducing "houses of worship" again, although it'd be nice if they actually look like churches and not the mashed together structure from Simcity 4. Having the cemeteries return would be nice too, even if the space would be lacking.
  6. Digital Deluxe, upgrade? or not

    Not worth it at all.
  7. Yeah I can't do it. Well, I mean, I can, but blech it looks really ugly. I'll just wait for the magical 2.0 patch that might come out sometime in the next year.
  8. City Overrun With Criminals

Don't just abandon it. Destroy it. Use monsters, earthquakes, tornadoes, and meteors. Take revenge.
  9. Population Count Way Off

Four way intersections are a big no-no in this game, because the traffic AI is hilariously incompetent. Limit yourself to three-way intersections, and avoid having streetlights automatically appearing (some, like avenue-avenue intersections always develop them) at intersections. Basically do not connect a high density street to an avenue. It will cause traffic nightmares.
  10. Germs... how do i get rid of them!

Eh, sometimes it can't be helped. I've had new cities somehow receive air pollution, when polluting cities are nowhere close by, and not even upwind of the current city location. The wellness van is a decent solution to clear germs, except some buildings will always create a huge amount of germs (waste processing plant, any dirty power plants, landfill, and any streetcar stop that ever had a sick person).
  11. Whenever chunks of my city start needlessly complaining, I chuck a meteor at them. That's my solution. I lose some tax revenues, but generally my accumulated wealth can handle a negative balance until new residents move in.
  12. No. I wasted $80 on the Digital Deluxe pre-order. As much as the game has a tendency to be fun at times, the price has gone down to $40 at times within the first month of release. It feels like I burned a lot of money away. On top of that, the Digital Deluxe goodies really aren't worth it at all. Maybe if I was more patient, I would have been happier with my purchase, but this Simcity is nowhere near what I expected it to be, and it's still not worth the money I spent on it.
  13. I didn't have any problems, admittedly, but I frequently went to other speeds during disasters (which my city seemingly got a lot of, which was unusual compared to other cities) and my population is less than 150k. How big was your city when it happened? I mean, remember, we're still dealing with really bad traffic AI.
  14. Meh, I'm hugely indifferent to this issue. Sadly, even though they're getting nice checks from Nissan for this little ingame advertisement, I still see Sims 3 Store prices on anything that doesn't have a real life logo on it, which I can see starting soon.
  15. Aren't gamers entitled to a functioning, entertaining experience after many of them spent $60+ at release for a game? The server issue was a huge disaster upon release, but once people started playing, even regular gameplay is riddled with bugs and issues that can frustrate a player, especially as many of these bugs should have been noticed before release (Traffic, no implementation of RCI, the recycling bug, emergency vehicles being stupid, etc)
  16. Streets around Events Center and Pro Stadium

Yeah it's highly annoying, but manageable, thankfully, as you can connect those roads. Still hugely frustrating at times though. I find the trainstation/ferry ones worse, though.
  17. would you be willing to spend $200 on a future COMPLETE Simcity?

The only way I'd pay $200 for a single game is if it was some advanced holographic technology that allows me to witness the natural growth of the city from any angle I can ever imagine, fully and perfectly rendering every person, vehicle, and structure.
  18. Battlefield 3. I've been meaning to try out its multiplayer, although Mass Effect 3 MP still has me hooked.
  19. Traffic AI

I was, SOMEHOW, able to resolve my traffic issues in one city by reworking some chunks of the city and adding more high density avenues, although now the city is stalled due to the lack of properly functioning regional utilities trading. It made me so happy that the traffic issue somehow stopped being silly. Sadly, I haven't fully been able to repeat this process. One thing though, Do not zone anything right up against the highway connection, because it becomes a bit borked and stalls traffic forever.
  20. I hope to God the next EA CEO understands gaming and starts restructuring EA to make them into a great gaming company again, like they were in the 90s. How many franchises have crashed and burned over the years under the current management? Command and Conquer was crushed with C&C4, Simcity is right on the line (and before this release, it was essentially dead with Societies), the Mass Effect fiasco, The Sims has turned into DLC central, second to Train Simulator 2012 in the cost and amount of DLC released...it goes on and on. There is no way this guy understood what a majority of their dwindling gaming audiences want. Enough with this F2P system they think their games should march towards, especially considering the P2W nature of the games I tried (Tiberium Alliances). Enough forcing games into being always online multiplayer, and treating customers like if we're nothing more than wallets of money, while skipping out on the quality and customer service of their products.
  21. Sales for Sim City 5

They were given the opportunity to return the game for a refund. Um, really? The brick wall EA has put up to prevent refunds has been immense, and a number of people don't have the time or patience to wait hours to talk to some customer service rep only to possibly be denied a refund. You really want to argue against their actions and the various statements by those on EA's forums speaking about their experiences on trying to achieve a refund?
  22. Free Game?

Eh, better list of games than I thought, although still nothing I want, or don't already own. Oh well. I'll get BF3
  23. Yeah the rollback issue is coming out in force tonight! Seemingly I can't play an already built city for too long without it crapping out on me and rolling back to an earlier save. Welcome to Simcity
  24. Simcity 2013 2nd Worst Ever?

I think two weeks is being patient to have a properly functioning game after release. They should have postponed the release of Simcity to fix all of these gameplay issues that should have been noticed during the development process, like the incredibly painful traffic issues that cripple cities, especially at the regional connection. But oh! They added achievements in again! Certainly a top priority! Yeah...
