  1. I could try do it but I didn't, doesn't mean I can do it but I didn't.
  2. Traffic, long road test.

I do not believe it will work. For the houses on the left side of the road to be filled you need the cars to drive all way to the end of the road, and turn back. To lessen the traffic, try to split it. Don't build all the industrial at one side but 2 or 3 sides. With their freight depots. The houses on the centre going to split the traffic to jobs closer to their homes.
  3. The guy who destroyed the other city did it while OFF LINE on DEBUG MODE in his own instance. He even said that the city COULD NOT be synced. Like his city didn't got sync, nor all the modifications he did on the region map. And the more all these crap are recycled and exaggerated, the more I do NOT want Maxis/EA to come by with any option to lessen their DRM hold.
  4. Hold on a sec. Easy to jump the bandwagon. According to the guy who made the video, yes you could destroy the city, but not in real time. You could do it in your own "instance". The city never uploaded on the servers, nothing was permanent and nothing affected the user that was playing the game.
  5. Did you lose a city?

When you quit a game, it shows a window saying "Sync & Quit". You either leave the window to close the application, or you press quit and you do not sync. If you do not sync, you might lose progress or the city. I lost progress on one of my cities by pressing the Quit before I let it sync on that pop up window. While one of my colleagues lost two cities. Since then, we left it to do it's job and didn't lost anything.
  6. If I am correct, was something like £7 for 2-3 buildings at the French/German/British DLC packs yes? Those 1 building dlc are useless tbh. We do not have enough space to put what we are provided at the moment.
  7. Make the affected road bigger, or start using T junctions more often.
  8. Germs

As per real world. You leave it to decay the next 20,000 years.
  9. Show Us Your Skylines

I was on the test server tonight, and was one of the longest sessions (6h) had with the game since I got it on Monday. (no work tomorrow, hurray). Other than the last 2 test cities, this is the first proper one that I had more than couple of hours like the remaining of the week. Is a mess, but I like the view. Still learning the game. Need to figure out how to make better roads on hills.
  10. If the patch was on the test server tonight, then they improved the whole engine quite a lot. Had some traffic (test server), but not clogs, and not for long. Some traffic was showing at 120k population. But I put it down to the split map with the steep hill Couldn't expand the road network properly, due to space issues. As for the leaderboards, they are depressing. (hahaha) Nothing wrong with them, but when I was struggling to make a living at 1mil from trade, others were printing cash faster than the Fed. (lol) Saw someone making 10mil from trading.
  11. Fps issue

I have a Dell XPS with 550M. You need to put the power management to full speed. All advance settings to 100%. No throttling when you have the laptop on power, is rule of thumb to play games on laptops. Latest Nvidia drivers (autodetect at Nvidia isn't working, download the latest they work). I play it with all Resolution: 1920x1080 Lighting: MEDIUM Textures: HIGH Shadows: LOW Geometry: MEDIUM Animations: MEDIUM Tilt-shift: LESS AA: OFF FPS LIMÌTER: 60 V-SYNC: OFF works fine. But need more power this game to be honest. At the GTX570 at home everything is on High and 8x AA, and 3D glasses (Nvidia Vision kit). Runs like a dream.
  12. Why roundabouts are cool

I know there aren't any roundabouts as such atm. But I am experimenting with closed round roads. I found that the traffic splits between the roads evenly because you can go both right & left (since they are roads and not single traffic direction). Is weird how they move, but it does feel the traffic is moving faster than when I had X or T on those junctions. But because they are roads, they take a lot of space and they are big. So yes we need roundabouts and single direction road traffic with the ability to remove stop signs on some roads and give priority to others.
  13. Thank you Guillaume (and whom ever else working) The next steps should be to be able to make proper roundabouts and direct traffic on roads at a single direction.
  14. Hamish Plays SimCity Episode Two

Good work :)   It looks awesome. However maybe is the quiet moment before the storm?
  15. Simcity 2013 v Cities XL

    You compare apples and oranges.....
  16. Someone on another thread over the weekend had found that, most of the gridlocks happen when you have an intersection next to the entrance. And needs around 200m-300m straight road from the map end, before the first intersection. That way, even the garbage trucks worked, coming from another city. I am not surprised about the traffic. Because when you try to clog 100,000+ population on 4sq km, that will happen realistically. And a good idea for overpasses http://uk.ign.com/videos/2013/03/12/simcity-how-to-build-an-overpass-and-solve-your-traffic-problems
  17. It's an intersection "square", not a roundabout. You had an old intersection there, and you demolished it. (can see it from the left square without roads going left & right). Demolish it, and build a straight road to the map exit. It will solve your problem. (Edit : You have to make them turn around into the city. Build a ROUND road around the school from the free space on the right, but demolish the intersection first) @MaxisGuillaume Keep the good work.
  18. Complain to EA Same occurs to Steam & UPlay. One game licence per account. (except there is some offer at Steam).
  19. Nuclear Meltdown

Since is common issue the Nuclear meltdown, maybe put a big sign "If you do not have University do not build Nuclear Power Station?"
