  3. What are you reading?

A Case of Need by Michael Crichton. Dune is amazing. Now if they could only make a similarly amazing movie. (Not the miniseries from Sci Fi or Lynch's butchering of it.) I can so see it in my head...
  4. Beaujolais Valley : about mapping

This is absolutely excellent!!!  What a realistic map.  Keep it up!

  10. Red River 2108: Kingsway II

The mall! oh... I like the little orange-roofed apartments.  Cute!  The residential area next to them is indeed pretty sad...I bet this place could be nice though. Very nice beeblies!

Atrubia by Driftmaster07 [simCity4Devotion] Although Mr. Driftmaster seems to have two charges against him—he is 14 and has not played SimCity for very long—he overcomes these challenges to give us a different spin on the desert-style journal. Atrubia contains Western trees and houses, apparently not from a lack of Middle Eastern BATs. The country has decided to westernize, forming a mix of Eastern and European influences. The Bad The early updates go a little blur-crazy. Some blur draws our focus to a particular area, but by the sixteenth blurred picture, the effect waxes stale. The amount of trees seems unrealistic for a desert region. Not that I’m a desert expert or anything. Atrubia’s irrigation must be fantastic. Sweet lot editing in most cases, but occasionally something really weird happens... ...like this. The Good I thought the round islands were cute. Seems artificial-looking islands and shorelines are in vogue, but one reader suggested trying to make them look more natural and squiggly. What do you think? Driftmaster writes meaty replies, something I as a reader ALWAYS appreciate. (Heads up, CJ authors: readers return sometimes merely to read your reply to their comment…No reply, no return visits. At least, that’s usually the case with the Twiggy.) Oh, and he responds very well to constructive criticism, and actually incorporates your suggestions, which means improvement. Woo! He likes to interact with his readers too. Most readers don’t take advantage of this kind of thing, but I think it shows that the author cares about his audience. Says he needs more custom content, but I found his current BATs to be great. Pretty hot closeups. This guy has an eye for details. French quarter in a desert Iraq-style CJ? That takes guts. I can’t quite decide if I like it or not. The Bottom Line Overall, an interesting little journal, tickles your eyes. Needs some improvement but thankfully Driftmaster is open to suggestions. Head on over to SC4D and have a look.
  13. 50 State quarters

Twilight Good job. My mom's digging through quarters, I think she's still working on 2008...Lol
  14. Z

Thank you for fixing that rail bridge.quote> You're welcome. Oh yay, Merak. I like the little church and I think I shall go shopping at the shopping centre. Ferries, redundant? Pfft. I'm thinking those relics have something to do with an ancient race called the Motlians, who built huge secret messages with rocks only to be seen from satellite tran... Nevermind.
  15. The Windkloppel Conglomerate (Westingtown)

Lol, I actually just re-installed SC4 (on my new computer) so I probably did see that screen...find a good map and can't wait to see what you have in store. Good luck!
  16. VERCELLI

Yes, you're back!!! I was having fashionable-city-journal withdrawal. Seriously. All custom lots? You are simply amazing, Luke. I see Chanel building, D&G, YSL...did I miss one? The round building at the bottom is my favorite. Give us more!
  17. United Islands Of Territories

Very pretty towers next to the water! I love all the greenery/park trails in-between!
  18. Z

Hehe, nice update Mayor, I like the Marina. Jacqulina Thanks for stopping by again, Jac. Archean That’s a good idea, and I often have the same problem myself, developing too close to the water’s edge… but at least my apartments don’t catch on fire... Blue Lightning Hope to see you again BL! Twenty20 Hey thanks for commenting! Sc4portugal Lol, I’m glad you think so. PhilsCafe Haha, glad to see you here Phil Now you can see all of the cities. 39k and about 90% of that is Polaris. Here is the area I worked on (Den'enth). Farming is an important industry on mainland Den'enth.
  19. The New Official City Journal Critics Thread

Twiggy is ready to begin reviewing again
  20. What are you reading?

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer Yay for overrated vampire romance.
  21. Gnetus - Part 1 of Update 2

^^Rofl what a FANTASTIC teaser, I can't wait to see the full update now... 200 screenies eh? I'm lucky if I take 20...Lol thank you for the info on the font, I might look into it. Lol, and your "names" made me laugh. I looove the huge park in the middle of the mosaic. And the highway (?) separating the city, with the suburbs on the outside. But looks like some abandonment there on the edges. I'll be back.
  22. Z

My two cities. Calm beaches and beautiful landscapes define Zärin. On the Den'enth island, choose from colorful housing... ...and get a free palm tree with every lot. You may even walk to work via park trail. A small overview of the island. Thank you for the fabulous comments
  23. Summer water stuff

Aw, I love tubing so much. I went at camp one year and it was a blast. I also like those lazy rivers at the water parks, I could just float around in my tube all day lol. There's a public pool within biking distance of my house. Pretty awesome. Unfortunately, haven't really had time to go there yet this summer. I never understood how someone could not swim... It's so second-nature for me. Maybe because I had lessons when I was 8 or 9, I don't remember very much about them, though. Guess I learned something, I swim pretty well, if not very fast. Oh, and being the twig, I don't float, which is kind of annoying. And pfft, are you ever too old to build sandcastles?
  24. Gnetus - Part 1 of Update 2

Holy cow, I love your Photoshopping...That font you used for the title is cool.. I like your use of trees...Yeah, I was going to say that the edges of the beach look a bit squared-off, maybe you could use the clone tool (I think it's called) to put some of the plants around the edges? Well, that's what I would try to do.. Hmm, your I-Ag demand is nonexistent, that might be why they aren't developing..Lol but look at that commercial demand! Are you using a demand mod? I have the same problem with my farms though.. Well, I'll be back.
  25. Petrova

Lol, I don't mind un-realisticness... Sometimes it's better to think outside the box, IMO, if you can make it look good. "If" being the operative word. Did someone say shop and Dolce & Gabanna in the same sentence? I am definitely going there, and the canal is very pretty. But, for all your shopaholics, I see hardly any cars. It looks calm...too calm... unless everybody is using mass transit. Btw, your page 13 still isn't showing up (at least as I post this) not sure why... Anyway, keep up the good work.
