  1. Looking for work!

Neat stuff. Your probably better off posting your CV and portfolio on a dedicated job-hunting website though (and theres plenty of them!), I doubt you'll get many job offers around here
  2. What Music are you listening to right now?

    Gorgoroth - Revelations of Doom
  3. The greatest national anthem ever

Don't you guys over there usually get really annoyed when we refer to your country as "England"? quote> We can be confusing, yeah. It just depends on somebodys personal level of Patriotism. But no matter what somebody says their Nationality is, English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish - their still British, their still part of the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland (to give it its full name) and theres not much they can do about it until the entire country is forced into a devolutionary spiral. You just have to remember that refering to England as an individual country doesn't annoy us, but referring to the entire UK as "England" annoys us. Saying "Edinburgh is in England" annoys us Scots, but saying "Edinburgh is in Britain" doesn't, unless your a rabid claymore-weilding nationalist. The English and British/UK national Anthem are the same - God Save the Queen - But the English have been calling for a seperate one, leaving 'God Save the Queen' for a joint function where we acctually compete together, like the Olympics. During the Commonwealth games, the English team uses "Land of Hope and Glory" as their national anthem, which it probably is Unofficially.
  4. Change we can believe in.... Version 6.0!

The new version is great, from a design perspective, I can't find anything wrong with it... it does load alot faster i've noticed We also have Youtube and Flash imbed buttons now too, which is well over-due
  5. System Requirements?

The graphics card is really old.. I don't think that you will be able to run it smoothly ... maybe at lowest graphics. Jerbodquote> I had a PC with slightly worse specs a few years back, it could barely run SC4 smoothly, never mind something like Cities XL. If you upgrade your card to a cheapo 7800 or something similar you'll probably be able to run it on lowish settings. I just got myself 4GB RAM, along with the 1.9 GHZ Dual Core and Nvidia 9500GT it should be enough
  6. My Journey to Paris

Yeaar, get us an exclusive. Hopefully Dirk won't have a heart attack from overwhelming brilliance.
  7. Screenshots (Pre-Release)

Mmmm... looks tasty. Can't wait until people get their modding teeth sunk into it, myself included. Hopefully they'll release that Avatar maker as a seperate programme first to keep us occupied, kinda like the Spore creature creator. 8. Soviet Black Sea Union (SBU)

From one Grimy City trixie winner to another, you are doing a massively fine job at keeping the toxic grease flowing! Its not often I feel envious over another CJ... this on the other hand is quite, quite different.
  9. What are you reading?

The Bible according to Spike Milligan "And he told Moses, "Take a stick and take it to yon rock, smite it." Moses took the stick, smote the rock and water squirteth out and the Israelites came to drink of it, and the Lord said, "Drink ye not until thou hast boiled it." But many heareth not and, woe, there were squitters in the land."
  10. World in Conflict Soviet Assault

Oh mumma... been looking forward to this for a very long time. It nice of them not to leave us very long to wait after such a long period of uncertainty.
  11. The GTA4 thread

Yeah, I got TLAD a few days ago, completed the story in 6 hours and got disapointed with the lack of extra content. Also, the fact the DLC doesn't add anything to vanilla GTAIV kind of annoyed me. I'm starting to doubt any other GTA DLC will be worth getting.
  12. 2008

I don't want to be one to spew forth personal troubles and triumphs, but I started working for the first time this year and I have twenty words to utter - This is the most tedious, boring and downright soul destroying situation that i've ever had the misfortune to fall into. Maybe its because I work minimum wage to support 2 people, doing heavy lifting and/or standing for 7 hours sifting through scabby unwanted books hoping to come across a signed, first edition Lord of the Rings in a sea of failed Diet Books and Da Vinci Codes. I'd much rather go back into education and maybe do something part-time jobwise. I know somebody has to have the crap jobs, but its funny to think that the crap jobs wouldn't be so crap if we just had some comforts... I mean, Chairs would be nice for a start But, I would like to thank two wonderful entertainment developers that kept me very much occupied in my spare time this year*... Rockstar and Bethesda, who loves ya baby! *By "This Year", I of course mean "Last Year" (2008).

  19. Did you chose your religion?

I was raised Religiously, I used to go to Church every Sunday, I went to Sunday school too... but then I started reading Encyclopedia's at the age of 6-7 and later on figured blind faith wasn't a strong enough basis to believe in a higher being. True story this though... I got my family thrown from the Church when I was 7 because at one School assembly the local Minister asked "How was Earth created?". I was chosen and explained, to the horror of this religious gathering in front of me, that the "Big Bang that created Earth and we're all desended from Apes". The Minister phoned my mother up and started ranting how he would not allow Atheists in his Church. After that, my mother became a Catholic along with my Gran, me and my brothers stayed pretty much agnostic, verging on the atheist.

  22. Song title game

This game is relatively easy, you take one word from the tile of a song (not the Artist) and then tell us another song with that word in it... For example, i'll start with- Empty City - Thunder Somebody else could take either the Empty or the City from the song title and say- Pink Floyd - Empty Spaces - The next person could say- Dixie Chicks - Wide open Spaces Next- 12 Stones - Open your eyes and so on... This does or doesn't have to reflect your music taste, its just abit of fun... I'll start with an easy long one - The Cocaine makes me feel like i'm on this song - System of a Down [EDIT] To keep things in order and not to get people confused with Song Title and Artist, please structure your posts like- Artist - Song Title Thus, preventing any 'twitching' from Duke87... and confusion for everyone else
  23. RED ALERT III

OFFICIAL SITE INFO- Frank Klepacki Interview Strategy Informer Article And, some PC Gamer article pictures (not scans) from the RA3 forum. Has one or two nice screenshots (Page 3 for Kirovs) - Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5 Page 6 More info, taken from here- Story After the Allied drove the Soviets back to Moscow, and their defeat is nigh, they decide to send back several hitmen in time to kill Einstein, the single person they see responsible for the Allied superiority. Although the act is successful, and Europe seems is in peace (With the second war never happening) in this altered timeline, a third party comes into play with the Empire of the rising sun (Japan), which gives birth to plans of world domination they, given their technological advancements, are set to realize and achieve, throwing you into this ménage á trois. Oh, and here's more info - - Uses the brand new RNA Engine, a step up from SAGE - No Prism Tech. for the Allies, but Chrono returns - Almost every unit will have secondary abilities. The Conscripts can throw Molotov Cocktails, for instance. - Campaign can be played alone as well - Soviet Dogs will be replaced by Polar Bears. - Rather than free-form building, buildings will be placed on a grid, to insure there are no pathfinding problems - Each of the 3 campaigns will have about 8-10 missions. - Will feature and UPDATED version of the Hellmarch Campaign -Can be played co- operatively either with a friend via Multiplayer, or with the aid of an AI ally. The main goal of the AI players is to capture and defend the most significant points of a given map, and you can use their structures for producing units. You cannot control the units of your team-mate however, for the developers deemed it very chaotic after a test run. Needless to say that you see the map-revealing progress of your ally. Both points count for AI-driven or human Co-op. -For each side (Allied, Soviets, Empire of the rising sun) there are three commanders to choose from before every mission, each with at least three special abilities. The one they showed the magazine was an allied commander from whom you could ask for an air strike in pre-set periods of time. This commander is played by Peter Weller (aka RoboCop) -While Yuri doesn’t play a role in the main game, the game’s writer mentioned the possibility of his return in an already planned expansion pack Maps -Altough not visible on the screens, there’s going to be massive damaging in RA3, with weapons carving colossal craters into the ground -Amphibious ships/tanks can only “land”/leave shore on sandy beaches, so its crucial to capture and defend these areas -Since the maps have to provide enough room for at least three participants, they’re naturally much bigger than they were in Ti
