We will be joining the 12 hour strike in protest of SOPA and PIPA.

"But why? What's the point of blacking out?"

We want to do our small part to help spread awareness. The issue is concerning if the US sets a precedence and other countries decide to follow suit.

    "But isn't Simtropolis in Canada?"

Our server is actually in the US which means we're affected by US laws.

"What can I do? I'm not even in the US?"

Even if you're not in the US you can help by petitioning the State Department. The US state department constantly speaks out against internet censorship in other countries. Pressure them to speak out against America’s new domestic censorship system. Sign the petition at the link below.

"But I just want to download buildings!"

We'll be back January 18 at 8pm EST. We may just be a small site out of many, but if we can help spread a little awareness about an important issue by going dark for 12 hours, we're OK with that. Learn more AmericanCensorship.org

Join the discussion in the SOPA thread here.

If you have a US Congressional representative, you can write to them and urge them to vote NO on these bills. You can find your representative by entering your zip code here.

Great job taking a stand on a couple of awful pieces of legislation which if passed would have significant impacts on the global community - not just the American community.

All the same, it's nice to have the site back!

It was a good choice to partake in the strike against both SOPA and PIPA.

It just goes to show the jerks on both capitol hill and in that LA high-rise that we will not allow ourselves to be bullied by them.

    Well done Simtropolis for participating.

We all need to stand up against this draconian and flawed bill that threatens everything that the internet was created for.

    Say no to SOPA !
