The City Sim You've Never Heard Of...

Most of the A-Train titles haven't been released in the US (don't know about Europe).

And it is train-and-economy based, not city-based.

Apart from the fact that A-Train is more similar to Cities in Motion than to Cities XL (or, for that matter, SimCity), the game is japanese, not chinese!

To be more accurate, Cities XL is more likely a rip of of A-Train.

I hve A-Train HX, but it's practically the only one released in Australia, and all I can remember is that the controls are terrible. I kept thinking that it'd be far better on the PC.

It's highly likely that it either won't se a release here or it'll be such a 'niche game' that the retailers will never stock it.

A Train HX for xbox 360 is awful. Worse than simcity societies....

I have heard of Atrain 9 I have it in japanese, I have all the A-train games

from 1 to 9 all japanese and 3 english

I have A-Train 8, or rather had (apparently I lost the files that I bought online somewhere in the UK) and it was a semi decent train game with mediocre graphics.

A-Train 9 boasts better graphics, however I have yet to find anyplace in the U.S. or the U.K. that sells a digital copy, and the few locations that I've found that sell it legitimately in Japan (NOt chinese by the way) are about 10,500 Yen, aprox 135.00 USD, so not exactly worth the money.

I'd really like to see this sold in the U.S. or U.K. for the normal gaming price. It would appear that the original developers and or publishers do not feel there is a big enough market in the U.S. or the U.K. to bother with.

1. I have heard of A-Train. I was aware that Maxis published one in the US and that it is a Japanese game, like SimTower (The Tower).

2. I am not an enthusiast of mass transit simulations (I tried OTTD and Simutrans), I much prefer modern City Builder/simulators (SimCity 4, Cities XL, Anno 2070).

3. This is a high end transportation simulator made for Japanese train-watchers and some professional transport officials/planners.
