3 pointsI've been working on a new district within Passau, it's known as Elmfield and it's name is derived from woodland that once spanned most of the area. The area is overwhelmingly residential but has a dense high-rise sector along the eastern edge of the district which forms part of the wider Caledon Quay business district, a former shipyard redeveloped in the 1980's and 90's. Caledon Quay is also home to the National Stadium of Perseus and the National Tennis Centre. The area also contains some light industrial and large scale retail as well as a large riverside park. Some teaser images below!

1 pointReplies: SIMCITYPLIS: Thanks for your comment. That house you are referring belongs to Simcoug's R$$ Diagonal Houses. Thanks a lot folks for the likes and views! {---} Entry 62: Brooklyn, The Beginning These pictures are a collection of two to three months work on my The Big Mango project, a downscaled recreation of New York. This is my best approximation of Brooklyn giving the resources available. If this had been Cities: Skylines I would have nailed it, sadly my computer can't run Cities: Skylines anymore, let alone a version of the game with all those mods and plugins. So here's the next best thing! This is also a small treat for all those New York members of Simtropolis- you're in my thoughts and prayers given that you are in the epicentre of the Covid-19 outbreak in the USA. Stay safe folks and good luck. {---} Everything in the bottom right corner, bound by the East River and my approximation of Newtown Creek, is Brooklyn. 2. I tentatively added some avenues and highways to denote some of the key routes of Brooklyn. 3. The next step was working out the kind of buildings to use. 4. One day this view will be complete... Some day- perhaps coming sooner given the extra spare time I have due to the WuFlu lockdown in the UK. 5. The next challenge was finding a series of brownstones which were both grimy enough and suitably Brooklyn-enough! 6. From here, once I found the right building styles and themes, the area suddenly exploded with development as I infilled city block after city block. 7. 8. 9. One part of my Brooklyn Bridge Boulevard creation- pushing the community plugins, mods and user-content to the maximum here! 10. Since this recreation is downsized I couldn't create all the fisheries and small docks dotted along Brooklyn's west shoreline. So this had to suffice as a substitute for Wallabout Bay. 11. 12. There is no SC4 bridge to match the Williamsburg Bridge. So I picked the closest approximation and that steel girders style felt the best to use! 13. Good fortune allowed me to end the bridge inland, thus given me the ability to place some overhang buildings under the bridge! NO lotting was involved! 14. This area is loosely based around New York City Housing Authority's Ingersoll Houses (by Brooklyn Bridge). 15. These aren't random creations either- I looked extensively at Google Maps and sketched out a hand-drawn map of key roads, areas and landmarks. Thus proportionately landmarks and features are in the right place, but the scale is smaller. 16. I did something similar for Manhattan Island- Lower and Midtown Manhattan. 17. So it was a mini labour of love! 18. The rest is my interpretation- an artist gotta be an artist! 19. 20. One thing I noticed about the Brooklyn brownstone city blocks were the trees both on the streets and in the middle (of the city blocks). This made my job easier! 21. My dream is for one day where someone creates a diagonal Brownstone set to help me create diagonal city blocks of brownstones! But, one can only dream... All it would take is ten buildings, three or so different colour variations, and three or so different roof junk and window variations (closed curtains, etc.) and that would be enough. Give me that and I shall give you a few dozen blocks of diagonal, W2W Brownstone goodiness to make jaws drop! 22. 23. The northern part of Brooklyn is complete, but the southern part is not as I'm waiting for diagonal brownstones- it hast to be diagonal to really break up the area. But, as you can see in the bottom left corner of the picture, Long Island City can be worked on! 24. The money shot! To the bottom left is Greenpoint. 25. This miniature version of Greenpoint gave me a chance to splurge out on all those industrial BATs! 26. And a bit of MMPing too! 27. The elevated highway is supposed to represent the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. 28. Any ideas you have, or recommended buildings, then I'm all ears. 29. The small river is Newtown Creek. Since this is surrounded by a lot of warehouses, factories and industry, then this will be really fun to build! 30. 31. The Big Mango -- my downsized New York recreation -- as it stands now. My next goal is to complete the Long Island City portion in the bottom left of the picture. Afterwards I'll be working west of Manhattan on Union City and Jersey City. There's still plenty to do before I eventually tackle the south of Brooklyn. Again, if diagonal brownstones turn up that would be nice! And that's it for this entry! Have a good weekend and stay safe! Oh and a few bonus pictures, albeit posted previously- but keeping good spirits and all of that...

1 pointReplies: SIMCITYPLIS: Thank you very much! ledthug1983: Sadly this building came from the now-defunct SimCity Polska website, this building may possibly be found on the STEX in the SimCity Polska section in its respective industrial section. Maybe. Silur: Thanks! It'll be some months until I finish off The Big Mango, in the meantime I'm working on Travis City and will soon be finishing off the rural areas of Cindersville. Krasner: Good Will Hunting is an incredible film, one of the best of the 1990s, and yeah some of the city shots and neighbourhood shots may have been an unconsciousness inspiration for The Big Mango. JP Schriefer: The Big Mango is probably by last foray into big cities, after that I'm going for rural settlements, the countryside and perhaps some foreign builds (Italy, Japan, etc.). Some parts of The Big Mango couldn't have been done without your NYBT BATs and general W2W, so it keep it coming, they're very good and useful! {---} Entry 63: Madison Plains (Southeast) This is the final entry from Madison Plains, it's a bit of a special one as it features some experiments with MMPs and removing the base textures of certain oil production buildings. {---} 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. So far so good, but we've seen this kind of thing before... 10. Where it gets interesting is from this point onwards. 11. Last year I was experimenting with PIMX and removing the textures and base textures from certain lots. Deadwood's Oil Fields caught my attention for I realised those were wide lots, with small props and models, which could allow for plenty of MMPing! 12. 13. 14. It was the building of diagonal houses against FA roads in Madison Plains which inspired me to do the same for Cindersville- but on a much larger scale. 15. 16. 17. 18. 19. {---} For the next entry we go to Travis City as I've made MEGA progress with developing this latest city tile.

1 pointCARMIANO The small town of Carmiano has a large forest and there are small industrial businesses related to wood. There are many farms in this city it's the warm weather makes everything beautiful this landscape The city is located near mountains. Here's a mountain road with a tunnel The small town is very active during the day There are many historic buildings At night the city is very quiet Street lights illuminate historic buildings The small industrial area of the city is empty. There are only lights Nobody's moving. Only lights that illuminate industrial machinery As the night gets darker and darker people go to sleep. Carmiano is a quiet town COMMENT REPLIES: JOAQUINA BEACH The British Sausage: Thanks for the comment. I'm trying to reduce saturation and contrast.

1 pointThe city of Eureka is about 2/3 finished. In this entry, I will show you some photos I posted on Tieba (https://tieba.baidu.com/p/6507104924), to show you the development the Eureka City. And in the next entries, I will keep updating photos as I build the city. [The development of Eureka] [Eureka Avenue] [Eureka CBD-2 Development] [Eureka North Coast] [Eureka Nightview](matches with the third daytime view in the development of Eureka) [Bonus: Eureka Stonehenge!] I wrote a sci-fi-like introduction of Eureka Stonehenge for fun in Chinese, I might translate it into English if I find time But the picture alone still looks creepy

1 pointHow this CJ works Every single update, aside from this introduction, readers will be introduced to an aspect, issue, or concern about the city of Drapersville. The four council-people will each have their own ideas on how to address the issue or their plans for changes - it's your job to vote for an outcome that you think will suit the city and its' people the best. It might be voting on a proposed neighborhood redevelopment, a housing project, a building proposal, or choosing between different mass transit plans or architecture. It's 100% up to you - the city is in your hands. Draperville Draperville, est. approx 1810, is a mid-sized city somewhere in the Western world. It has a population of 400,000 in the city proper, and around 800,000 in the larger metro area. Draperville was founded along the shallow Hecht river and was an auto manufacturing and cattle producer for most of it's lifetime, until both of those industries experienced a crash in the 1950s from which they never recovered. Since then, whilst a growing suburbia keeps the population high, the city itself is becoming more and decrepit, mismanaged, corrupt, and filled with an uneducated and unemployed populace. Crime, especially in outer neighborhoods, continues to rise. A rainy day in the an inner city neighborhood near the cemetery. Note the 1980s "luxury" condominiums standing empty and abandoned, a sign of one of many failed downtown and inner city "revitalization" in the last forty years. Rumor has it that the building, which, when occupied, was leaky, mechanically unsafe and poorly designed, was simply a joint money laundering operation by the developer and city Councillor who approved it. Drone shots of the downtown by the river. Statisticians estimate that there is no office building in the CBD that is more than half occupied. During the weekend, and at night, the downtown is completely deserted. Finally, a shot of the West Draperville commuter train line cutting through inner suburbs. Next Update An exploration of Draperville's inner city neighborhoods, blighted by crime and corruption, and their residents. You will vote on what you think should be the City Council's plans to "revitalize" the area.
