About this City Journal

I started a new region a while ago and now its time to talk a bit about it. Went for a still gammy but realistic feel same as some of my previous work but better. This is were i go for my black belt in city designing and try to emerge as a designer for the STEX to be proud of(no pics though urrrgh. still worthy of an update though). ;)

The map is completely custom as I think if anyone here is a designer will be easy to accomplish. My skill in God Mod isn't as good as some but I tried to stay away from over complicating things with too many mountains and went for what took me 15 seconds of looking at a map of the Chicago skyline to build. I've currently got a couple large maps and the surrounding areas which cover the edge of a large Lake or Ocean space covered with development. In this map.....i didn't use a single cheat. Aside from mods but no surplus funds have been added and everything is done with a realistic budget. This slows the game development down some but it has been worth it in the results i look forward to displaying. I could make a tutorial on how to make money making cities as every one of mine are currently profitable.  My capital of this region has a surplus of 4 million and my second largest city has a surplus of over a million but hasn't been growing for as long as Terra Nova(Chicago style). Terra Firma(New York style) is the second city squeezing Industrial Sector 8 between them and Converse(a High Tech Industrial Hub), Behr(Business Hub) and Oak Beach(R and R location for my sims to get away from the hammering grind of city life).

Well, things are still progressing in my region. Total population is sitting at 625,000 sims. The capital has 280,000 sims and growing very nicely. I even have a freight train station hauling close to 500 in freight from one of my industrial areas.(rare for me) Starting work on Epiphany the last of the Large maps in this region. Theres still plenty to work on and when i can show better pics i will. Oh and maaaan those KOSC parking lots are the bomb.....now we can make completely original lots. Just love...

Well I decided to add the industry booster and its really helped keep me afloat with a 20,000 a month surplus. Its helped me out in all parts of my region.....In my opinion with this and a well organized region with lots of industry you can rake it in and not need to cheat to make good money. (Unless you call this a cheat but i don't because industry is always the main money maker for any economy so i see it as just making things more realistic)....thank you to the creator of this mod as its exactly what i...

Still haven't cheated on my budget since the start of my new region. The Capital Terra Nova is currently sitting at 200 thousand citizens and growing fast....40 thousand the last session I played. My transit system is world class and I have as mentioned done an extensive rail network to ensure there's at least one high speed transit option for inter regional travel and freight service. Of course there's also Air service if you really need to get someplace and to sponsor tourism. What I'm really trying to...
