Update 17 - Near East Side - Cramer Neighborhood Now we move to the north side of the Brittany River, more specifically, the Near East Side, the area between Orchard Creek and Honey Creek north of downtown. This update focuses on Cramer Neighborhood which lies between N Webster Ave, E North Ave, N Prospect Ave, and E Sherman Ave. The neighborhood is home to low-wealth residents and has two schools (Cramer School - Martin Public Schools [MPS] and St. Mary's Catholic School) District of Wenzel Street Map...

Update 16 - Highland Neighborhood and Brittany River Industry This update we will move a little north to view the area between Baltimore Ave and Brittany River. Heavy industry occupies the area between Highland Ave (D10) and Brittany River. South of W Highland Ave, a low density residential neighborhood flourishes. This neighborhood is called Highland Neighborhood and is situated between S Harrison Rd, W Highland Ave (D10), W Baltimore Ave, and S 24th St (D230). D15 runs through the east end of the...

Update 15 - Luther Neighborhood Welcome back! In this update we continue southwest of Brittany River into Luther Neighborhood. Can you spot the composite pictures in the mosaics? Farmland along D34 (Hawthorne Pike). Hawthorne Pike expanded to 4 lanes and renamed Hawthorne Ave. Triangle between E Baltimore Ave, S Harrison Rd, and E Hawthorne Ave. The Triangle The Triangle Continued Luther Neighborhood named because of Martin Luther College and the Lutheran Cemetery Western edge of Luther...

Update 14 - Westward Expansion South of Brittany River Now we will look south of Brittany River as Martin expands south and west. I am pleased with the great urban wall to wall apartment buildings created by goofyguytpa available in the STEX at Simtropolis. Also many of the industries are from jestarr and the incredible BATers with the Barry Sanders Project. I suggest opening in another tab/window the region map of the District of Wenzel, so you can see where exactly we are travelling. District of...

Update 13 - Expansion North of Brittany River and Bitter CreekFinally I get to start expanding the City of Martin! Actually I've been working on the city for the last month, since I've slowly been releasing the updates every Sunday. I'm pleased with my mix of wall-to-wall industry and residential, I hope you think it looks realistic, too. I suggest opening in another tab/window the region map of the District of Wenzel, so you can see where exactly we are travelling. District of Wenzel Street Map In the...

Update 10 - Driving Down D31 to Hohler The next three updates will follow D31 south through Hohler, Hawthorne, and St. Paul. This update we will pick up from where we left off at the intersection of D240 and D31. This is a night update since the sun had gone down by the end of the last drive, so we will drive a few miles to the Village of Hohler and then rest until morning. I hope you like the lighting effect I add using GIMP to simulate headlights, since if we were driving at night we wouldn't really be...

Update 09 - Portland Township Travelling on D67, D42, and D31 Here is my first stab at roadgeekery in this MD. I've done a few drive-thrus like this before in my Cambellsport, Rabourn, and Sessquenna regions, but in the District of Wenzel I will try to go really in depth with signs (down to speed limits, loose gravel, etc.) I credit dfnva's roadgeekery style. Just a note on these first few updates, especially this one. As you'll see in this update, the signs are NOT uniform since I pretty much...

Update 06 - Eastern Edges of Sioux and Union Townships It has been about a month since my last update, but as you will see, I've been hard at work filling in the land with farms and roads. Today, I began street maps for the region and completed only the western edge of the region (the eastern edge of the townships of Sioux, Union, Jersey, and Sullivan). I have pictures of this area and the map, but I will save Jersey and Sullivan so I can update in a few days. The farms along the Rapidan River (SIOUX TWP)...

Update 05 - Early Downtown St. Paul Here is another big town growing at least five or six miles to the south of Martin on the mouth of the Christina River. I've completed a lot of farm land and I really wanted to have those updates first, but I ended up taking these pictures, made the mosaics, and had the rare opportunity in China of having fast internet. I'm learning GIMP and much to my relief figured out how to put borders around my words so that they will show up nice on the pictures, however as you can...

Update 03 - Martin Town Expands Martin Town has rapidly expanded along the narrow peninsula it was founded on. Engineers constructed a bridge to "Clement Peninsula" and a thriving neighborhood known as "Clement Neighborhood" sprang up. Wisconsin Ave became the connecting city between the original peninsula, "Clement Peninsula" to the north, and Walker's Fields south of the Brittany River. Bridges over the Brittany River must be high enough for ferry and ship traffic and thus pose potential engineering...

Update 02 - Founding of Martin Town Settlers sailed into the protected waters of Willms Bay and founded Martin Town on one of the peninsulas. Forgive the rough look of the growing town. I haven't downloaded all the plugins I used to have, so there are case where I used to have something to fill a tile but now don't have it and it is a little frustrating, but I'm trying to do my best.

Packersfan returns with a new journal about the District of Wenzel with the capital city of Martin. It has been nearly a year since I have really played SimCity, and a lot has happened in that year. In January, my computer's hard drive died and with it all my plugins and my Sessquenna region. In May, I graduated from college. In June, I reinstalled SimCity and Rush Hour and have begun the arduous task of repopulating my plugins. This new region uses the Meadowshire terrain mod from cycledogg/c.p. The...

Update 12 - South D31 through Apostles Township and St. Paul We continue south on D31 through the towns of St. Mark, North St. Paul, and St. Paul. St. Mark, North St. Paul, St. Paul along with St. James, St. Andrew, and St. Peter are little towns in the aptly named Apostles Township. St. Paul was featured in the fifth update of the journal a couple months ago. D31 actually bypasses St. Paul, probably not the most realistic path for a highway, and we will only see the outskirts and industrial edge of St....

Update 11 - Travelling South D31 - Hawthorne and Apostles Twps Today we will continue south on D31 through the city of Hawthorne to the town limits of St. Mark. More farms obviously but more practice for my sign arranging skills. I used a lens flare to simulate the sun. Obviously the sun is on our left as we set out south in the morning and then slips to our right side as we travel southeast. What do you think? I also updated the region map to reflect D31 crossing the Brittany River and label the city...

Update 08 - Southern Charlotte Township Back to the north end of the region, we travel through the southern third of Charlotte Township. The southwestern section of the township is very hilly with small farms along winding roads. The southeastern section of the township is filled with standard grid farms. The eastern edge of Charlotte township is occupied by the Basil Inlet, upon which the small town of Sussex is located.
