The City Journal will take you all around the Weston-Cedar Springs Metropolitian Area. You will see the city, the suburbs, parks, highways, airports, and everything in between. To start let me catch you up on what the region looks like and some basic facts about it.

The Weston-Cedar Springs Metro Area hold a little over 4 million people. That would make it the 14th Largest Metropolitian Area in the United States and the 3rd Largest in the State of Texas. The metropolitian area is made up of four important cities listed in respect to population: Weston, Cedar Springs, Tel Aviv, and Irvington. The population is sustained by the two major rivers that flow through the region the: Reino River and Pecana River, as well as the system of lakes and reservoirs.

The region is crisscrossed with several different highways. Interstate 5E, 20, 320, 420, 2, 102, and 29. They each carry thousands of commuters to work everyday. Many also take the train to work. The Metro is a fast way or anyone to get to work. In addition, Weston and Cedar Springs as well as the W-CS Airport are connected by a High-Speed Rail System. The region currently has 2 major International Airports: Weston-Cedar Springs Int'l Airport (Located in Midland Prairie) and the James A Baker Int'l Airport (Located in Orange Grove, services Tel Aviv).

To create this region, I placed several different cities on top of each other and took the features of each that I like and that I thought went well with my plans.

This is what the region looks like:

I shaded the areas that are developed, much like a map of NYC would be grey or yellow. Anyway I will give you a little information about what you are seeing. All the water ways are outlined in Blue and are labeled. The river on the right is the Pecana River and the river on the left is the Reino River. All the lakes are man-made. Also, something to add about the green areas located around the rivers and lakes, those are floodplains and parks. Some information about they highways: Interstate 420 is also the Weston Beltway, 320 is the Ceder Springs Beltway, and 102 is the Tel Aviv Circumferential Highway. I guess that pretty much all the general background stuff. Here is a teaser for my next update:

This picture is kind of boring, there are better ones to come. This is a picture of the George Washington Boulevard Bridge crossing the Pecana River. In the upper right you can see the Weston Gulch. The part of the town that was around during the Wild West times. You can hear more about that in a later chapter. You can also see the High Speed Rail as well. Also as a little game, as more updates come out try to figure out which cities the region is based on. I will give you a hint there are at least 5. Next Chapter will appear soon!
