The Suburbs of North Shozhod

We have Shozhod has a dense, busy, and dirty city. But what becomes of all that wealth generated? Much of it goes into Bordav's military force which is used to place pressure on the borders of Syldav and Balboa in the century-old struggle for resources and dominance.

However, much of the wealth lands in the hands of wealthy industrialists who own the ports and corporate enterprises that dominate the nation. Most of these individuals moved their families and fortunes into a Shozhod suburb to the north. What did they build there? Well...

The wealthy love their high culture; thus, North Shozhod has an open-air concert venue. Starting with a Valentines' Day showing, the venue is filled from the early spring through the winter rainy season.

Around the concert hall is a small arts & crafts market (at left) is open Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There is also a beautiful path beloved by dog-walkers, as well as  the Clatuv Swim & Tennis Club.

The Clatuv Swim & Tennis Club is a popular destination for the local residents. Members pay premium to have hour-long slots reserved.

Northern Prepitory School was built in 1893, originally as a K-12 school. In 1934, it was converted to an elementary school.

North Shozhod High School was built in 1933. Unique in Bordav with its 7-12 grade structure, the school is the launching point for the next generation of wealthy elite. A public school in name only, none of the poorer residents on the nearby outskirts of Shozhod enrolled in the school.

North Shozhod Public Library was built in 1988 after the older building was deemed seismically unstable.

The commute into central Shozhod is an easy one with boulevards lined with beautiful plazas. They also value their local police department very highly and ensure that non of the riff-raff in the valley to the south can get in.

As we have come to expect Retep, another quality update.  I'm kind of torn. I am with ITS on the library but I am also diggin' Clatuv Swim as well as the concert hall (its the DJ / musical performer in me). These suburbs don't need bus stops, everyone drives a Lexus.

Schulmanator: I'm glad you liked it! Money doesn't buy happiness, but it makes misery a lot more comfortable!

IrvingTwoSmokes: Thanks so much! I hope that you keep coming back around to see some more soon!

ROFLyoshi: Their Parks & Recreation Department can afford the water bills....

JGellock: Not many bus stops indeed. However, I failed to point out that a new subway was built so that the suburanites could quickly rush into downtown without seeing the riff raff as they rode by.

Hope more of you check out this entry and leave me some more comments; I love to hear from ya'll!

This is a really nice update. Seriously like them suburbs they are so green and look quite peaceful. Again - well done. Gives me some idea of how my suburbs could look like.

Very cool library. I'd like to know where you found that one.

JGellock: That church is from SimGoober's church packs: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=14036
