Komurat Island
Komurat Island is an island located in the centre of Dark Lake. Settled in 1911 by a group called the Madova, they built the island up from a bare spot of land in the middle of the lake into a thriving community. Komurat is under the Cape Carter district, south-east of Hampton. The city is surrounded by a giant seawall.

This is present day Komurat. It is reasomably low density, but covers the entire island. The only ways out of the city is along the Carter Hwy & the Komurat railway line.

This is the Komurat Causeway, which runs from Komurat to Cape Carter via Middle Island. The picture featured actually depicts the West Section, which runs from Middle Island to Komurat.

Komurat Main station is the terminus for the Komurat rail line. It runs to St. Margarita via Springwood, Manuma & Middle Island. The railway line to Manuma was built in 1959, & the section to Komurat was finished in 1973. It runs as a bridge to Middle Island & then as a subway to Komurat. Also depicted is the Carter Radio Building. Built in 1914, it's the oldest surviving building on the island.

Cape Carter Government Hall is the head of Cape Carter's parliament, thereby making Komurat it's capital. Also pictured is the artificial Centre Lake, Manningham's only 'lake in a lake'.

Komurat's wealthy district. The land was originally low-lying swamp, but it was raised in the 1970's & a seawall was built.

This is the spillway that drains Centre Lake.

Komurat's downtown is significantly smaller than other cities. No high-rises here! However, Komurat will build up as it's needed. Right now, it's just fine as the population is small.

This statue in the middle of the roundabout honours the original inhabitants of the island.

The sole entry to the city, this allows easy monitoring of who enters & exits the city. Komurat residents don't want a bridge to the Eastern shore of the lake as it will be costly, & see Komurat as a thoroughfare across the lake. Komurat's roads would'nt be able to handle the traffic & there's no room for a highway.
Keep watching as the island city grows!
