2. First Expansion
It is clear that while Rosewood could continue as a small town as it always has been, there may lie a better path if we try to expand and develope further.
However, the greatest challange the town faces is the unforgiving topography. The existing town is built on the little flat ground available and has occupied most of it already. Rosewood river is very deep and rush, that any bridge constructed over it will be quite expensive. For now, we cannot use the flat land across the river.
After some studying, the city council agreed to expand the city towards the south first, onto the slopes of Castle Peak. While Castle Peak is a tall mountain, the slope is not too steep at its feet. Still it is too steep for a direct road, so it has to go zig-zag. Along the way, there are pockets of land that are flat enough for residential area.
At the height of roughly 1/3 the summit of Castle Peak, there lies a plot of land that is relatively flat, enough to build a small town. This area is now named Castle Terrace due to it being at the slope of Castle Peak. From here the residents enjoy the open view of the entire Rosewood.
As for the town of Rosewood itself, preparations are being made to allow further development in the future. There is one main road that connects the town to the highway. It is widened into 4 lanes and is named Rosewood Avenue.
There are upgrades in the highway as well. New highway connection is made towards the East, allowing more options for incoming traffics and export. A highway intersection is built for better connectivity beteen the highway (for both directions towards east and south) and the town.
The mountain towards the east, named Sunrise Summit by the locals, holds a large flat area at the top. This may become useful in the future. But for now, it is too far away from Rosewood that no one would choose to live there, so only a dirt road is built to reach the mountain.
The town's population has risen slightly due to the expansion. However, with the upgrade of infrastructures, the path for further deveopment has been opened.
