Australia
Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a sovereign country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. It is the largest country in Oceania and the world's sixth-largest country by total area. From impressive landmarks, stunning skylines, beautiful natural wonders, and much more - today's update has plenty to see. This update also demonstrates some of the progress I've made lately with various terrain mods, custom BATs, FSHs, and custom lot editor textures.
We'll begin with a trip to Australia's Northern Territory. This territory's interior is filled with plenty of unique natural wonders - none more famous than the iconic Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock. This large, red sandstone monolith is well known for being sacred to the local indigenous Australians.
Close by are the famous Olgas - known to the Aborigines as Kata Tjuta (meaning many heads), these large, round, mysterious rock formations are a truly unique sight.
Australia's landscapes are truly vast. Here we see a remote sheep farm located in the heart of the country - sometimes the nearest neighbor can be nearly 100 miles away.

Western Australia is home to nearly 2,000 miles of mostly untouched Indian Ocean shoreline - and the Coral Coast is one of the world's major breeding areas for sea turtles.
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the Australia's most iconic natural landscapes. Over the years, it's become a popular tourist destination - divers across the world are attracted to its diverse array of corals, clams, and fish. You never know what you might find here - it's truly a magical world.
An overview of the Great Barrier Reef, just off the coastline of Cairns, Queensland. Unfortunately, because of widespread bleaching in recent years - it's hard to say how long it will last in it's current state.

We make our way down to New South Wales, where the next destination is the Blue Mountains of Katoomba. The "Three Sisters" is one of the region's most spectacular rock formations and one of the country's iconic natural landmarks.
We head further south into the Australian Capital Territory, where you'll find Canberra - Australia's capital city. Founded in 1913 following the federation of the colonies of Australia as the seat of government for the new nation, it's also Australia's largest inland city. Parliament House is the city's most famous landmark (as seen in the center of the mosaic) - members of parliament meet here to represent the Australian people and make decisions for the nation.
Australia's most famous cities however can be found on the coastline. Well known for its impressive skyline, Sydney is the country's largest city - here we see a nighttime mosaic of the harbour city from above.
Melbourne is the country's second largest city and its downtown is home to Australia's largest number of skyscrapers.
We catch a plane and travel to Western Australia for the last leg of the journey - and we'll start with another one of Australia's most recognizable natural wonders - Wave Rock. Resembling a wave forever frozen in rock, this popular landmark has been shaped by rain and wind over the centuries.
Another view of Wave Rock from the ground.
Another one of Western Australia's most iconic sights is The Pinnacles. These distinctive limestone formations are well known for their jagged appearance, and are located a few hours away from the capital city of Perth in the state's Nambung National Park.
Our last couple of sights showcase some of Western Australia's most important industrial areas. Kalgoorlie-Boulder is home to the world famous Super Pit gold mine - this vast mine's history stretches back to 1893 and is now the world's largest open pit gold mine.
Although much of the land in Western Australia is uninhabited, mining operations (usually focused on copper and gold) have made the area an extremely profitable resource for the country. Here we see a typical mining scene from the heart of the state.
