Sixth Update: Calypso; Azure Lake, Fog Valley.
Sixth Update
Calypso, Azure Lake, Fog Valley.

Calypso is an island off the vernacian coast connected to the mainland through a shallow shelf (to be demonstrated in a future update "geography of vernacia") that also makes navigation of larger-sized ships impossible.

The south portion of calypso constitutes on some farms and a bay, however the island is largerl undeveloped, so no one ever took advantage of the scenic features or the relatively safe waters. A portion of the shelf that connects it to the mainland can be seen on aerial view if one sharpens his eyes.

North calypso is the other half of the island. Pretty much the same stuff as its southern sister. Only some more farms.

The ferry ports here are larger than many mainland towns with the same population, the key reason being that the island was colonized earlier than the mainland, and it was for some time an important traffic relay for ships. However such times of glory are long gone. Notice the diesel power unit that runs in the village.

However calypso doesn't posessses enough population to be considered an independant township. It is adminstered by Valmouth Town Hall.
Fog Valley

The name and picture kind of give it away, no? A unique combination of sea air and mountains gives this region a very chilly fog that happens pretty much dayly. Still, people live here beleiving the moist, cold air has healing propeties. Who knows...

Docklands, farm, turf, the same stuff. But with fog.

Oh now that's different. A Radotelescope.

The fog valley radiotelescope (FVRT for short) is an international science consortium that sought to build a large receiver antenna on this location due to its isolatedness from the rest of the island, a rare place of radio silence where peering into the secrets of the universe is possible. This place is visited by scientists which stay different time frames around researching the noises from space.

Azure lake has a very jagged coast interposing developable valleys and cliffy mountains, this led the area to a very unique layout on the townships that aren't connected to the main road grid.
Next follows some random shots of these communities, not on a specific order or naming:
Here's a close up of the main township which is tied to the transit grid.

Some towns around the lake's coast.

Notice that the transit network is mostly unorganized due to the lack of any central regulamentations on road construction.

Some local kraftwork... ![]()

Same stuff, only that it got contact with the coastline on the easternmost portion of the rural sprawl.

The lake communities are far too unorganized and coalesced to form an unified town council too, so this region is ruled by Fort Hayden Town Hall (incoming update)
And now a word from our maestro! ![]()
Now I finally bothered myself to do some photoshopping on my pictures. Hope the extra quality pleases you folks!
I had to turn off shadows because the bad quality software renderer provides was becoming an eye sore, and for future big city posts I'll need to turn that off anyways (skycrapers look plain horrendous on it), so get your eyes used to it now already.
