Ok who left that teapot on that mountain!?
We have a couple of cities to see tonight, it'll be an east-west tour passing trough the very heartland of the island.
Let's start with...
Palan Bay
![]()
Palan bay is another of those sea-linked communities, with lots of rural activity too, however its citizens seem to be completely oblivious to a giant teapot sitting on the mountain that overlooks the bay...
This was the first region to be colonized when of vernacia's discovery. The old Orient Trading company building still stands on the coast, functioning as a myriad of civic services, commercial area, and civic service for the local cities.
Thanks to its position as a minor government seat, some wealthy bureacrats moved into the nearby residences. Notice the unusual trees on the streets, which were imported form the different parts of the world to beautify the sidewalks.
Upwards and out of the baywalk we have the more common neighbourhoods, interlaced with some wealthier household of the occasional prosperous british trader.
Northwards there's a dusty district with some houses and no asphalt....
Aneios
Aneios is the sits in the very heartland of vernacia, however this doesn't mean much is going on here...
However the town is no more than a collection of little villages scattered all around, this one being one of the main residential areas alongside the rural roadways ...
One would wonder why such extensive road projects on this forsaken island, but word is that such superfluous projects were all covered in corruption and half of their budget ended on the bank accounts of influential politicians.. well, one never knows...
On the other hand such road projects often have an abrupt end as they are replaced with plain dirt streets and households...
Grand Plains
![]()
Grand plains also is one of the townships that sits on the heartland of vernacia, with a giant teapot in its centre...
The town coalesed around this hill (which is hidden by the giant teapot) since it was one of the few sources of fresh water for kilometers, being a focal point of much transit and people coming back and forth to bring water during drought times. This eventually coalesed the community into a small town circling the hill.
Once more there are many smaller towns around the country side, often without the minimal viary infrastructure....
And a small photo of one of those towns, a greenhouse and some turf. Because I thought this was pretty, simple enough.
Valmouth
Valmouth is one of the connections of the eastern valleys with the sea, and a city of some unique beauties and smells...
...such as of the Pygg pig farm complex which produces enough pork to feed all the island and then some more...
And the sewage leak on the sea...
Of course off in the east there are better airs and views, such as of this yatch out on the sea...
Delosia Coast
Yet another giant teapot adorns the land, I wonder what are they up to...
Delosia Coast is known for its fine mud depositis, it is from here much of the bricks used in construction on vernacia are extracted. Some white limestone is also found under the feet of the giant teapot (not shown here)
The mud produced here is baked on klins scattered across the countryside, such as Svenson family Klin seen above.
And the Wrightsons Klin, nearby St. Paul's chapel.
And now a word from our maestro!
Yeah, day by day vernacia is taking shape, getting better and prettier. However due to some delays, some portions of the cities northward are not ready yet, so I had to ask mr. WIP teapot to help me cover up the areas until they are done. Eventually I'll make an update aderessing those regions.
Stay tuned for more updates!
That is, if I don't die of killer H1N1 strain....
