Few facts from history
Welcome to Meringburg

Meringburg is located in Sunset Valley, beautiful place somewhere in Poland. The development of city is strictly connected with the history of Poland. First mentions about city are dated to 1543, when local prince built a castle in the valley (it still exist) near the “Merburg” Village. In the ancient archives historians found document which told that in the 1689 civic rights were given to the city called Meringburg.
During the WW2 the city wasn’t destroyed, so today we can admire lot of old tenements, university and town hall from the 18th century. All of these is located in the Old Town districts.

After the WW2 the city grew fast. According to the socialistic reality, governments started a development of heavy industry. Huge demographic boom caused a big housing problem, so in middle ’70 two housing estates full of concrete high buildings stood up.

After ’89 when Poland became a capitalistic country Meringburg started to change and became large commercial centre. Today over 270 thousands of people live here, 65% work in services and 35% in industry.
