[SC4] - Webzone Region

Looks like it's time to increase your airport's capacity. It's looking kind of run down. ;)

 

Don't be afraid to throw in an occasional diagonal/FRAQ road here an there, it's extremely 'grid'y. The NSEW blocks are a bit basic by today's standards with the likes of NAM available.

 

It's obvious you have the basics under control with building your cities, it's time to step up the skill level.

Indeed, like infamousjibe said, though I can't speak for myself, looks like you could do with some more intricate road pieces and do with an airport upgrade to bring in more commercial/residential demand :P

Yes, my basics of city building is in my control now. You are right. This city was the 2nd city I built after few weeks of starting the game. And yes I was scared to put curves and diagonal roads as it will waste some tiles. :D I used to play only to raise population and profits. :) But now I have seen work by so many people like you, and I understood that this game is about playing and enjoying at the same time! So then I started putting curves, gardens, flora, river, etc. :) I am still scared of heavy RHW networks, canals and Elevated train networks.



My next entry will be the 3rd city I built (I think its 3rd, I don't remember the order now). Hopefully you will see and like some improvements. :) Soon to be uploaded !!

Believe me, I haven't even started using the RHW yet either. That'll be for a rainy day when I'm feeling frisky. There is so much you can do with RHW, it's almost intimidating to get into. Especially when you see how well other mayor use it in their images. 

 

Glad you take constructive criticism well. Was worried you might feel I was attacking your play style, which is certainly not the case. I just like to push the best out of people when I see potential.

Unless you have your funding maxed out for your current airport, you shouldn't have to build a bigger one. But if your airport budget is at or beyond 100%, then you'll indeed have to build the larger one. 

 

Or you can always raise the capacity of the current one with the latest NAM release. If you do the custom install, there is an option for airport capacities that allow the smaller default airport to handle a lot more traffic before it maxes out.

 

You might also want to check the crime situation of the airport as well. Heavy crime can have an effect too.

Well.. the airport is not at 100% yet. I shall check about the custom airport options in the upcoming release of NAM.

 

Yeah, the next question is about the Crime. Airports always become yellow, orange and then Red in the game with Crime. Severely affected. Even if i send police cars or helicopters to airport, it doesn't help much. Should the airport be always under coverage area of Police dept? If i am not wrong, a jail cell in city helps police to perform better.

 

How do you mayors handle that situation?
