Wildcat Den

Middle Tenne: Wildcat Den
Blankenship is a town straddling the Clinch River in Middle Tenne. The Tenne Avenue Bridge bisects the town as it crosses the river. The town is unusual in that it does not have its own port. It is connected to road to the Meltonhill area and makes use of the multiple ports located there. This decision by the City Planning Office may herald the era of regional ports or perhaps doom Blankenship to slow economic growth. Only time will tell. The town site was selected to connect both sides of the river in the relatively flat, wooded area known as the Blankenship Fields. The terrain is ideal for connecting east-west land transit with the north-south river crossing. A major intersection north of town will help connect Meltonhill with points east by road and, it is hoped, more than compensate for the lack of a municipal ferry port.
The bustling city seems to be off to a good start. A series of fortunate events has helped to boost the local economy. First, the town has secured the right to coinage from Prince Excalibur. The new coins are made in nearby Cedar Hill Chapel. Second, transit through the town is booming thanks to the transit plans made when the town was started. Commercial receipts are running well above last year’s totals and merchants are Cheshire smiling all the way to the bank. Third, several local businesses have expanded thanks to the influx of cash and customers. Cat Head Industries secured a major contract to produce irresistible sisal wallpaper for feline homes. This innovation stands to be one of the most lucrative ideas in the realm of feline interior design. What feline would NOT want to climb the walls when they’re lined with a dense fiber you can really sink your claws into? Cat Head Industries signed an exclusive contract with the chain store Ossie’s Scratching Post, which has locations across the nation. But the new wallpaper factory is right here in Blankenship. SchulmaniCorp has opened a new Fancy Feast distribution center in town as well, capitalizing on the demand for exotic new flavors being imported from Myon thanks to the recent trade agreement negotiated with the Bureau of Feline Affairs. It’s a great time to be in Blankenship!

Let’s head into the bustling town…

My first stop is City Hall. Mayor Giuseppe Gaddis is hosting a reception for a visiting dignitary this afternoon. The Deputy Prime Minister of Evean Vansop, one of Schulmania’s oldest and most loyal allies, is visiting. He’s on his way to the capital to meet with the Governor-General.

The Deputy Prime Minister will be staying here at the Alumni Inn before heading out in the morning. It’s the nicest guesthouse in town and features a karaoke bar on the ground floor. Avoid Tuesday nights; it’s Klingon Opera night.
See what I mean?

The striking red façade of Big Ed’s Corner Marketplace is a local landmark. He is proud to stock the widest array of Fancy Feast flavors within 200 meows of here. Across the street is the Cat Head Industries sisal wallpaper factory.

The surge in the local economy has led to many new businesses and homes in the city. You can use your newly minted schulmonetas and purrs in a dizzying array of places. That is, if you haven’t spent them all buying scratchable wallpaper!

Did you recognize the Blankenship Fields Church on the back of the schulmoneta gold coin?

Perhaps you would like to shop at Watson’s Department Store to use some of your new coins? This stately corner edifice features wares from across the Feline Realms and beyond. Just come see for yourself!

Upscale retailers have been setting up shop as fast as they can to cash in on the new wealth. Fancy brands like Purrada, Dolce & Furrbada, Furberry and Clawovski Crystal have joined other high end retailers in the Blankenship market.

Before sticker shock sends you to Memorial Hospital, remember that every store is offering 10% instant cash back with every purchase over 10 S. So, shop away, guilt free!

Let’s head back across the Tenne Avenue Bridge to the other side of town for the big party they’re having tonight!

Everyone in town is coming!

We’re all headed over there… come join us!

We’re all headed to the Wildcat Den, Blankenship’s civic center. There are all sorts of fun and games here tonight.

It’s party time at the Wildcat Den!! Come celebrate with us. Fun and games include cornhole, pin the tail on the Manx, hide and pounce, cardboard box (cats prefer this to X Box!) and a SchulMonopoly tournament. The ballroom is hosting a dance off with a cash prize of 5 schulmonetas for the winners. Let’s have some fun!
