Hey guys...!!

I'm sorry for taking this long, but as you all know, working on simcity is not that easy when you try to get it as close as possible to real life...

So, first things first.. REPLIES!!

ggamgus: Hey, thank you for stopping by... hmmm I know.. I know, but you know, but sometimes I get stuck, and working on different areas sometimes reveals a crazy way to solve what I was stucked with... but yeah... I worked on Manhattan purely this time, and I got some incredibly HORRIBLE DIFFCULT I HATED IT SO BAD part... hope to see you around... keep coming!!

Forthwall: To be honest, yes... I dont know how much time it will take me to get there, but yes... this CJ is aimed to last long, and to cover as much as possible, and remember, this is Izidor44's map, so it covers a lot... so why should I not show a lot, right?? thank you for coming visit... hope to see you again...

nate1245: HEY! glad you liked it, here is something for you, hope you like it!

Necropolis: Hi, glad you made it to the last update... I got names already, and are based on general areas. I know what you mean, sometimes it takes more than a tile for the same area, but I try to use general area names so people can identify it easier (same applies for me lol)

So.. Now, a little teaser I prepared for you guys... it's not much, but it's a little update on lower Manhattan.. I need to know if that looks real enough for you... working with the angles has been a pain in the back :ohyes:

Anyways...

Some progress on Lower Manhattan.. and alphabet city... enjoy, and please comment and rate...

Im not loving NYC currently because of angles... lol... do you??

Lol, angles suck :P

As far as the map goes, I think it is coming along very nice. Everything seems well plotted and ready to see some development. :thumb:

How come You have not Transformed Central Park into a Park yet? I can see in this picture that its not yet the right shade of Green and still looks undeveloped.  its not aloud to be a natural park theres no Dear and large game in there in real life. the only place in new york city where you can find large game in park is Jamaica State park.i know that Central Park is so .large that it will cost your city a hugh amount of Simoleons in City Beutification Buget but build it anyway. theres Things you can download to give your city free money so you can keep the money flowing into your varius City Departments

I agree with Ace, I also would like to see development. :P

Great street work so far, though, what you've done so far really resembles the street map of Manhattan. :D

First off, great job and congratulations on daring to start a NYC re-creation! It's not an easy decision and not a lot of CJ-ers have made it. I would presume that it's because they might underestimate how challenging it is to recreate a city that gas a grid system that at a first glance looks completely regular. Once one starts recreating it, they notice all the irregularities and challenges that grid system has.

I appreciate your effort on a level of someone who has tried and is still trying to recreate Manhattan. https://i.imgur.com/Ldpztsj.png My limitation is the map I have chosen because it cuts the island in a way that divides certain city blocks in half. Most noticeably between 42nd and 43rd street, therefore making it impossible to place the Chrysler building and UN headquarters correctly. But we have to work with game limitations as good as we can.

Your progress is very admirable and I'm looking forward to seeing that map more and more filled up. You should however start using region census view for showing us the region. Other than that, for now, great progress and I must say I am very anxiously awaiting next updates of your CJ. Great job!

I have had this problem before. When i was building Pittsburgh ,PA the Map Cut in Half the Stadium That the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Team Played at and then i had to find a whole Nother place to build a Baseball stadium Instead. the Map Split the baseball stadium in half. one part was in Downtown and another part was in West End.

Great job here.  The only downside to complete realism with the streets and using FAR angles is that we don't have the BATs to comply with the weird angles of the streets.  I tend to prefer less realism with the streets to create a better looking city once the buildings are in.  Having a whole lot of streets not lining up with buildings is going to look weird in a city like NYC.  Perhaps you can prove me wrong?

Hey guys!

So yeah, Ive been playing, Im trying to finish off the "angled area" of Manhattan, and after that, some development should start... although, remember, this is not a Manhattan only journal, it emcompasses all its surroundings too!!

Some quick replies that you guys might find helpful:

1) I know it doesnt look really good YET, but once you see the final stage of it you wont believe it... Ive seen it, and I dont believe it neither...

2) The reason why central park is empty is because I haven started playing yet, and as we all know, central park can easily take me a month to get it complete...

3) Vlasky, I saw your picture, and I would recommend you to keep going!!! This map has its limitations too... the only perfect map would be one in which you play the whole island as one tile... IMPOSSIBLE... lol...

4) elavery... welcome again buddy! basically.. I know what you mean... but we have to play with what we have.. hopefully it all looks good... =) to be honest, I have no idea how this is going to end up... and to be honest, I dont consider myself a great player... so its up to you guys to decide, and to make this a great cj...

So.. that's it for now...

See you soon =)

Non Sense it would only take my about 5 hours of playing to zone Central Park Into a Park. havent you noticed the really big parks in my simulation?
