@_marsh_: Thanks.  It's mostly suburban sprawl.  The larger buildings on the map have all be apartments so far.  The commercial sector has been growing outward, not upward, but I got my first Stage 8 Commercial building to grow today, so that should start changing.

 the farms between the cities are nice, but i think you could improve them by changing the roads to streets, possibly using the SAM, maybe the dirt or gravel roads.

You are right,  I don't use the NAM because I've always felt it was a bit too complex for me, and I'm a little afraid of what it might do to my game which isn't all that stable to begin with.
