Good Evening and Welcome to Roanoke VA, I hope you enjoy your visit!

The city of Roanoke (pop. 64,000) is the largest city in a rapidly growing metro area of 125,000 people. It is situated in a large valley in the Blue Ridge mountains of western Virginia. The avg. income in Roanoke is among the highest of any municipality in "Southern Cities" at just under $120,000. The city is a regional center for finance, military, manufacturing, research, and agriculture, with a regional airport with direct flights to Reagan National in DC, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Charlotte.

Here is the Roanoke Regional Airport. A small airport with one runway, yet is still relatively busy.

Here is the Southwest Virginia Law Enforcement Center, which houses training facilities for Virginia State Police, Roanoke Police, and various police departments from the Shenandoah Valley, New River Valley, and the rest of Southwestern Virginia. This is also the HQ for the Roanoke PD and a regional office for the FBI and DEA.
