Konrad

The capital city of Imaginia

Konrad is the capital of Imaginia. It's a bit small for a capital (340,000 residents and a 120,000 jobs), though it's the largest city of Imaginia. Konrad is the economic center of Imaginia and the city has 3 airports. In the center there is a vast one-way road network, so it's hard to navigate around the town. Hirises are dominating the sky, and for small houses you should look by the water and the west side of Konrad.

History

Konrad was funded by the dutchman Konrad van Duyn in 1633. He wanted a trading post in Imaginia. By 1639, the town of Fort Konrad was a fact. Van Duyn got more than he ever wanted. Instead of a trading post, it became the economic center of Imaginia! The city grew and grew, and by the year 1900, the city has 75.000 residents. During the economic crisis of the 1930's, Konrad's economy collapsed, and jobs dissappeared. The ecomy was fully recovered in 1950, after World War II. By then, West-Imaginia was capitalistic, and Konrad was the capital of Imaginia. Hirises where soon dominating the skies. In 1990, Konrad became the capital of the whole nation.

Economic center at the east. You also see the old airport and the stadium.

Here's a lot changed since this picture has been taken:
1. The airport has been removed. We don't want planes to crash into buildings.
2. The high-speed rail has been converted to elevated rail.
3, The Maxis station (a shame!) has been replaces by the much bigger JENX Amsterdam Central Station. Therefore, the stadium has been demolished to make room
4. Obviously, there are much more skyscrapers in the area here,
5. The buildings near the motorways are removed.

The "Hoogerhei"-area. After "Project Building Sweeper" most destressed buildings are gone.

Apparrently, this picture has been removed from ImageShack.

This airport has been removed for the same reason as the airport in the middle of the city, Also those high-tension lines over the airport are very unrealistic,Today, this area is the Imaginian Gouvernmental Complex.

I am getting confused by the way how it's presented, it looks good, only it's a bit confusing. Good work thought with building it all:D

There's an obvious reason for that, Herdervriend. The post is about 1.3 years old, and not everything is in a good state anymore. Some images are deleted. The later updates have a better presentation.
