Government District

East Tenne: Government District
Renowned architect and millionaire playboy Baron Eugen von Pickel was selected to develop the government district, seat of power for the Kingdom of Tenne. His sprawling city plan was chosen for many reasons; including the striking contrasts he features between open spaces and urban areas and the use of an unprecedented six bridges. In addition to large riverfront parks on both banks, he used a peninsula in the southeast corner of town as the site for the regional capitol. The massive structure is at the eastern terminus of the Royal Mile, a heavily developed corridor of government and commercial offices. But, its other sides are bounded by open space. A common feature of Schulminion cities is their compact nature and intermittent development patterns. The feline population prefers to have open spaces and natural areas close by. Be it for recreational purposes or pouncing on a fresh snack, open spaces and wooded areas are common sites in even the densest Schulminion city. Prince Excalibur, ruler of Tenne, is an avid outdoorsman. Since he has selected to make the capitol his residence, he selected von Pickel’s plan for preserving open space around the capitol.

South of the Royal Mile, several of the town’s bridges connect Roane-Anderson across the forks of Bear Creek.
As we explore the Royal Mile, we see it is punctuated with several monuments. In front of the distinctive Bureau of Feline Affairs Building sits the Great Stone Claw, an obelisk commemorating the wartime exploits of Excalibur and the forces from Tenne. Closer to the capitol is Wirdle’s Column, a tribute to the supreme leader. Several noteworthy pieces of statuary flank the road as well.

The uniquely round Bureau of Feline Affairs Building with the Great Stone Claw.

The Great Stone Claw at night. It seems to be phosphorescent.

Wirdle’s Column sits in the eastern terminus of the Royal Mile. The monument is flanked by statues of Archduke Bower and of the Tenne leadership. There’s also a Tweety’s Cat Café located right there on the corner. Now that’s convenient!

Government offices have a splendid view.

A lovely sculpture, The Spirit of Tenne, sits at the far end of the Royal Mile.
Seen enough and ready to go?

Wait! You need to see the new capitol building. It is the largest regional capitol yet built. Of course, that means someone is going to try and top it soon enough!

Massive Excalibur House is the capitol of Tenne and residence of its ruler.

Executive, legislative and judicial powers for the Kingdom of Tenne emanate from here.

There’s a lovely plaza in front. Of course featuring a statue of its founding resident, the prince.

Can’t you just sense the power and majesty of the place?

At night, Prince Excalibur hosts events for the public. Today is hide and seek. He hid 50 Big Macs on the lawn. Find one and it’s yours!

The peninsula still is surrounded by natural areas. A great place for a stroll… or a nice game of hide and seek!

We close with a wider view of the southeastern part of Roane-Anderson, home of the government district.
