Lakota Island Eruption - 298 A.D. (Aftermath)

Following the cataclysmic event of 298 A.D., almost nothing remained of the Lakota island volcanoes or the island itself. A massive chunk of the center of the island had disappeared in the space of six days; Lakota had literally blasted itself apart. What was once ONE island had now split into six different islands with dozens of smaller islands in the vicinity.

Of the three volcanoes, almost nothing remained; the largest, Lakota, received the least damage, yet still losing most of it's height and it's entire eastern flank had sunk into the sea. It's neighbor, Scethy received more damage than Lakota with only the north-eastern flank remaining with the rest of the cone having been blasted apart. Niaru, the smallest, did not survive at all; the entire cone was completely destroyed along with a massive surrounding area going with it.

Today, a large caldera remains in the spot the volcano destroyed itself in. However, as civilizations settled into the area and gave birth to modern technology, geologists discovered something terrifying in 1983. Lakota was still active and capable of producing more volcanic eruptions similar to the 298 A.D. event. In 298, there was no one within the area of the volcano; today, there is the city of San Reina across the bay and it has a population of over 10 million people....

Hope you guys enjoyed the little story about Lakota. I've also attached an image showing the amount of the island that was destroyed.
