Hi  Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya,

Just a word to say this transit system I see in Raccoon City looks outstanding and very promising. I like it. I know the most you like in SC4 are the transit systems and here you have a real credible and good one 44.gif !!!.

mmm... mega-rail junction 44.gif You're right, what industrial area is complete without rail...

And I would definitely like to see the fate of that strange intersection once it gets a lot of traffic.

And I like your Marrast-inspired bridge as well.

And I should stop beginning sentences with AND...

Nice start! Anxiously awaiting how everything fills in... 9.gif

I am looking forward to see this city develop! I have always been fascinated by the way large cities grow, and most people do it too quickly, unlike yourself.

And I see that my icon of the Umbrella Corp that I have been using for a while is eerily appropriate for this CJ.

Good Luck on this project (THE MAP IS HUGEJUNGUS!)44.gif

As much as the city looks great, I think we need to stop talking about Resi Evil. It's not the actual city that we now and this could ruin his CJ.

And your right you did go a bit crazy with the El-Rail...

I'd have to agree. I mean I like your transit system and the El-Rail...but it's too insane for me.(Note that it's insane in a good way.)

Great work with the map. I like it a lot. I also like your transportation network, although I prefer letting a city grow. It's more realistic than doing the road layout first. The network itself looks very realistic though.

I can't wait to see more, keep us updated.

The Toronto BATs are found on www.simcity.com just type Tornoto on the search page and they will all come up, and the reason why I asked was because when I saw the shot when they showed the aerial view of Racoon city all the Skyscrapers were there and they were exactly how they were in real life, I though that it would look more like the real thing if you had those ones included in your skyline.

Wow! So many replies again! A big thank you to everyone 48.gif. I'll take the time to answer eveyone later this evening. For now it's time for another update. 19.gif

4.1- So I finally unpaused the game and the first Sims moved in. Notice the elevated rail Frogface Metro City Station taht I have put and also the park on the right of the picture.
    004

4.2- Here is a close-up of the first park built in the city.
    004e

4.3- This is what the industial zone looks. It's pretty ugly but one day, when the population will be well educated and that the hi-tech industries will replace the dirty one, it will look really nice.
    002d

4.4- Raccoon City is now over 10,000 people.
    004b

4.5- My aim is to get all those streets filled with medium wealth row houses but until the education of the Sims grow, it'll be full of poor Sims so it doesn't look that good for the moment.
    004f

4.6- The river wasn't deep enough for me, so I dig up the river and now it looks better. You can see the difference between the deeper river on the North of the bridge and the shallower one on the South.
    004c

4.7- Maybe some of you noticed that some areas seem like unfinished with some 1x1 or bigger empty spaces between some buildings. I keep these spaces to add small parks, trees, bus stations, etc etc. I don't add those things now because I have a big problem :
    004d
When you have as much money than you have people living in your city there are 2 possibles cases : 1) You have a very large city filled with skyscrapers or 2) You have a small city filled with debts. You can clearly see what my case is here18.gif. It tooks around 12 game years to my city to gain more money than it loses. That's the biggest problem when you build your transit system before building your city. Highways, elevated rails, stations, all that costs a lot by months when yon don't have a lot of resident in your city. That'S why I didn't built more parks for the moment, because parks also costs a lot by months when you have a lot of them. And I started with 500,000$ 18.gif. Actually, I unpaused the game and let the first developments go because I was running out of money. But don't worry, everything is under control, it ain't my first city 2.gif

Haha, did you know, that if you pause the movie just right, when the SUV is rolling over after being hit, you can see the CN Tower in the background above the buildings.  LOL. I was so proud of myself for finding that.

Great CJ by the way, Ill be watching this one! 44.gif44.gif

As promised, I'll take the time to answer everyone.

movcn : I've sent you a PM, so tell me if you still have problems seeing the pictures.

Muzz : I don't care if people talk about Resident Evil, this CJ is the right place. I'll try to do something that looks like the real thing but I won't promise anything.

jeronij : Thanks a lot dude! I'm very glad my two mentors, Marrast and you, have posted in my CJ and said good words about it 48.gif. It'll keep me motivated for sure. 44.gif

oroen : Thanks for your comments. Right now the strange intersection has something like 400 bus and 200 cars going throught it and everything go fine but I'll post pictures of it when there will a lot more people.

GingerBlokey and RadioheadFan : Yes, I love rails, there is plenty of it in all of my cities. I'm doing extension to the rail and elevated rail lines. It'll be shown in a next update. And Radiohead, like any other starting city, it's full of slums but it'll gradually get better. A lot of middle-wealth and even rich Sims have moved in since the last update.

Zagreus : Thanks a lot 2.gif. I'll try my best to show all the developments. And I think I've seen a couple of posts of you somewhere else on the forum, maybe that's your avatar you gave me unconsciously this idea, who knows ? 18.gif

PhilsCafe : Glad to hear your good comments 19.gif. That's all a matter of personnal taste, I feel more under control when my main arteries are built before zoning. But like I showed in my last update, the downside of this method is the money it costs to maintain all the network when it's still a small city.

xePh3roK : In order to build a bridge similar to mine. You need at least two mods. 1) The Bridge Height mod and 2) Tunnel And Slope Mod  , downloadable from here . If you don't have the NAM, it could be a good idea to get it too.

Wow. Your transportation system continues to amaze me. It would take me FOREVER, literally to make a transportation that detailed and excellent. My question is: does it work? What are traffic times like in Raccoon City?

Quack, jacqulina, bobinator and TheGuardianAngel, thanks a lot guys for your comments. It's keeping me motivated to continue even if I'm reel busy at school right now 48.gif.

RadioheadFan : Well, that's hard to tell now because the city is very small with around 15,000 population. The busiest road gets like 1000 buses and 800 cars so that's very far away from the 20,000 buses and 10,000 cars I have in my other region main city... All I can say is that the rail/elevated rail system has almost no usage, that's normal because the population is small and the elevated rail is conceived to be used by Sims working in downtown and this downtown isn't built yet.

Maranello575 : Wait! Raccoon City is pretty small now, it's not the metropolis seen in the movie, it's a quiet suburban city. I'm focusing on building the city and turning it into a big one with skyscrapers and all. When it'll be done (it'll take probably a lot of time because I'm a slow builder 43.gif), I'll start to focus more on the story with all the mad stuff.

simmax : Merci beaucoup 2.gif. Quand on les planifie comme il faut, les quartiers pauvres peuvent tr

Unbelievable... I mean how have you done it! It's more than nice could express!

Base of what do you name it as Raccoon City by the way? Are you just projecting it according to Toronto?

Whatever, the style of constructions evokes me the passion of that game and movie. So pretty!

    Keep me updated1.gif

How are you going to represent the city when the T-Virus is unleashed?

And you might need to ask someone to BAT the Biohazard Containment walls and the bridge gate seen in the film. You're gonna have lots of plopping to do!

Good Luck, I love Racoon city.

When it comes to highways or rail, I also prefer to plan that before zoning, because these networks are hard to fit into an existing city. And if you are recreating an existing city (or a movie-city) I can imagine that laying out the roads is easier.

But look at your city: It looks even better with houses... 2.gif I especially like the suburban feel of your town. I like it a lot.
