TV downloading websites

Websites such as www.tvnow.org exist for downloading tv programmes.  I'm interested to know what the legality is on them, and whether or not they kill computers like kazaa did to my old computer.  The reason I ask is I want to buy the latest episodes of season 2 of lost, but I am unable to get them from itunes as I don't live in the US.  Also, if someone knows of a website selling the episodes and doesn't have nationality restrictions I would love to know it as I am going out of my mind having seen only the first ten episodes of the new series!4.gif

Yeah, I'd use iTunes, but it also puts a lot of other programs into your computer.

(Glad to see another 'Lost' fan on the website)

In future, I's suggest you record them at home. Use a PVR if you have one, or a VCR if you don't. They both have timed capture features.

What you do in your own home is legal unless you distribute the result.

Or you could download a TV recorder for your computer. I have one... 9.gif

@dev: Quicktime is free, I think.

I wouldn't worry. Unlike kazaa, this isn't filesharing, it's actual download. So you can't catch other people's viruses from it. Also, since it claims to be spyware and adware free, you don't need to worry much about that either. Keep your Spybot, Ad-Aware, or whatever handy, though, just in case.

As for legality, you are paying for it, so it's perfectly legitimate. However, since you claim to have used kazaa, I take it you don't have problems with pirate downloads, anyway.

I used kazaa not realising the problems it causes.  I'd rather now use something legal that won't break my computer and force me to fork out
