I am trying to make a nice harbor with PEG's CDK mods but i cant terraform the land to be perfectly straight, I saw some terraforming beach mod in the columbia river cj by jeronij that he used for a harbor. Anyone know what that is.42.gif

I've never had luck with the leveling lots either.

The easiest method I've found is to place a 3x CDK lot and let it lower the terrain to the required height. Then bulldoze the lot and place a single road tile on the center tile (the now level tile). Keep placing adjacent road lots around the edge of your harbor (don't connect them), each subsequent road tile will level the terrain you're placing it on to match the level of terain of the adjacent road lot.

    Good luck44.gif

I too am having difficulties terraforming my shores to suitable parameters for the CDK lots to function properly.   Minimoose, to be able to place CDK's after using the leveler, try de- zoning the leveled area first, then proceeding with the CDK's.

                                                                                            Hope I somewhat helped

You'll have to do it manually. The best thing to do is open a new city and test out certain ways to terraform the land and mold into your favour, then afterwards go into your real city and apply your experience

It's how you orient the leveler lots that determines the height they set the terrain to. Point the arrow to the tile that you want the height to be. It often helps to use the 1x4 lot first until you have enough tiles lined up that are all at the same level before using the 4x4 lot. The 4x4 lot will not do what you want unless all 4 tiles on the arrow edge are at the same exact height. You also have to make sure that no part of the lot is touching a tile that is even partially in water. If you really want that tile to be at the right level you can use the mayor mode terrain tool to left it a bit on the edge. Use SHIFT 2 or SHIFT 3 to make the terrain tool circle smaller thereby allowing you to do more precise height adjustments. Keep working at it and .... please remember: The craftsman never blames his tools.

Believe in only what you can prove.

I'm getting really annoyed by the CDK now. No matter how straight and level I get my shores, the CDK lots still lower the terrain. I had the land kinda high, then placed a lot to get the right height, leveled it all off using the road tile method, then using the leveller tool made my shores all nice and square. Then I go to place the CDK lots again, and it lowers the terrain to the point that its underwater. Its a real pain. Took me an hour to do my port, now I'm trying to do a fishing villiage and its just plain not working.

The CDK lots are designed to be self-levelling to sea level. You will get nothing but frustration if you try to get them to plop higher, It works sometimes, but not consistently, in my experience.

As for the CDK Leveler, you have to point the arrow in the direction that you want to level to. If you are not careful about rotating the arrow with the Home/End keys, you will get inconsistent results.

Also, there are a few situations where the CDK Leveler cannot level the terrain for some reason. However, you can use single road tiles to level these areas.

    Hope that helps...
