I also want the Fordham spire to be BATted, because it is taller and better looking than the Freedom tower IMO. Plus, it is in the worlds coolest city, Chicago!

How about the monolith from the film 2001 Space Odyssey. It could be on one tile but create unlimited education on a large scale with no cost. Will be a breeze to build but the modding might be a bit of a nightmare. Not one for realists, more of a cheat. Might be cool for SimMars. Any takers?

An aethsteicly pleasing Sunken Highway wall set.

The ones out now aren't that pretty except one, and the one that is pretty is hard to make look good.

Here's some stuff I'd like to have in the game:

The Tokyo X-Seed 4000:

x-seed%204000%20nr%201.jpg

inside:

x-seed-4000-140-03.jpg

info from: http://www.acceleratingfuture.com/michael/blog/?p=24

X-Seed 4000 is a proposed skyscraper that looks oddly like Mt. Fuji. Perhaps it’s unsurprising that it could be eventually built in Tokyo, Japan. The tallest building ever fully designed, the X-Seed 4000 would house between 500,000 and 1,000,000 people. A tiny quantity of individuals, if you take into account that the technology to “fabricate” mature adult individuals from raw materials is probably only a few decades away. (A topic that probably deserves a post all its own.)

The X-Seed 4000, which would be 4,000 meters high (13,123.2 feet), would in fact be taller than Mt. Fuji, which is merely 3776 meters high (12,388 ft).

mtfuji.jpeg

The proposed structure would have a base 6 km wide and contain 800 floors. Designed by Taisei Construction Corporation, this mountain-shaped living environment would be powered by solar power and blend together high living with natural surroundings. It seems odd to claim that it would be powered by the sun entirely - this would mean that the company either intends to devote entire floors to nothing but solar panels or that it has found a way to power buildings economically with minimal paneling. In any case, it seems like nuclear power would be just as good.

Designed as an “intelligent building” the super-futuristically-named X-Seed 4000 would maintain light, temperature, and air pressure in response to changing external weather conditions. Because it has already been fully designed using materials available today, the structure could, in principle, be built, although it would likely cost several hundred billion dollars, if not more. Because the structure would weigh so much, it could only be built on the sea if present-day construction materials were used.

The X-Seed 4000 sounds an awful lot like an arcology, that is, ecological piece of architecture that would contain its own dependent ecosystem as well as human housing. In the long run, as buildings grow to such huge sizes that they become cities unto themselves, the integration of plants and animals will be essential for the preservation of human sanity and basic aesthetics. Eventually the Earth’s surface could become entirely covered in such structures.

I'm sure some of these have been suggested before. But anyway... anyone intrested in making these? 29.gif

Especially the X-seed 4000... that would be the largest lot ever made, I guess. As big as a medium city or something like that.

If I'd had any experience when it comes to lot/bat/3D making, I would have done it! 2.gif

Too bad I'm on mac, which makes it unabe for me to start anything. 8.gif

hey, just a parenthesis: where are all the arcologies...?

Two years ago that was said and The STEX here has more than one McDonalds already.

Patience friend, you'll get the hang of it. be sure to check how many pages are in a topic before you post and how old those replies or the topics are.

Is it me or have architects finally lost the plot? It looks very pretty but I bet the construction company are all wearing brown trousers...And as for the Tokyo things, where in Tokyo are they going to build these, as there is barely enough room for a lego brick.

I read somewhere that some of the buildings in Tokyo will be built on the water. But another thing: I don't know how they will solve the problem with earthquakes, especially for the X-Seed 4000. If it would collapse together with 1 million people...

I have no idea if this has been requested before, and I apologize if it has been, but I have an odd request for a statue.

this:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Integrating it with the BSC parks would be a cool extra.

We do now have a good variety of through stations, but personally I'd like to see a few stations in this style (specifically with this colour scheme.

http://www.railpage.com.au/modules.php?full=1&set_albumName=album11&id=Cowra_roadside_view_171104&name=gallery&include=view_photo.php

This style of station with these colours is partucularly common in NSW (and there's quite a few of them here in Sydney, and nearly all of the stations on the South Coast Line are in this style. This particular example is Cowra Station.

Interchange stations in this style would be nice also (as in 6-8 platform through stations) but not completely necessary.

I've long wanted stations like the above (I think a similar style may have been done before, but I'm not sure).

http://www.railpage.com.au/modules.php?full=1&set_albumName=album11&id=Loftus_station&name=gallery&include=view_photo.php

In my view this second one, though bland, would make a useful through station. I mainly posted it though to establish the sign style and typical platform markings found in NSW. The narrow platform seems to be a trademark of SimCity, so ithis second one WOULD fit in well.

I'm seriously considering a CJ loosely based on the Wollongong Metropolitan Area, and given that stations like the above are common there, it'd be nice to have the style.

Can you tell I'm a gunzel yet? 3.gif

Be aware these photos are NOT my own, which is why I've linked them as opposed to posting them outright (their tremendous size was also a factor, mind... 17.gif

There's some other great photos on there too. I hope I haven't overwhelmed anybody...

Hi, I'm writin' cos im kinda new on the whole BAT thing but I'm really hoping to get my Caracas city as realistic as possible so I just wanted to show some of the great buildings I need to do (but can't do them) so if someone wants to offer some help or whatever. I put some links to pictures, some of them are really bad but others can be found.

There's a really cool diagram of all Caracas Skyscrapers here: http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?s1264

<edit>  THE ORIGINAL REQUEST FOR BOULEVARD TREE LOTS HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE LOT REQUEST THREAD AT THE AUTHOR'S DECISION</edit>

But that is ok as I have another request which I believe really is a BAT request.

I would really like some simple park areas which are 1x1, 1x2 or 2x2 which are pure eye candy.  I would like to have decorative entry ways to be placed at the entrances of my suburban neighborhoods.

I dont have pics right now of real entry ways (I dont have a digital camera right at the moment) so I hope that my description will be enough.  The entry ways to medium and high wealth neighborhoods in my city are usually decorated with a small stone wall and lots of expensive landscaping which basically highlights the name of the neighborhood, like Bradenton Meadows, Raven's Bluff, Worthington by the Lakes, Bedford Commons, and other areas where I live.

there is usually a lot of shrubbery, flowers, one or two trees, night lighting (to see the sign) and the sign is usually mounted on a nice stone or wodden wall which is only about 10 feet long or so.  the more ritzy areas have waterfalls and fountains at the entrance.

I am not looking for any real words on the signs just something nice to put at the transition point between the main roadway and the neighborhood street entrance.  it would be nice if there were two lots per set (one for each side of the street) and it would be nice if there were many different sets of entryway lots so it does not get repetetive in a large suburb.

let me know what you all think and if this is more of a lot editor request or BAT request.  I would like it to look professional for use in my CJ.

thanks ahead of time.

There is one thing that I'd really love to see. It's a Wisla Cracow stadium, which is currently in modernization and here's a pic of the project.
