I realize my former request (Bilbao's Guggenheim Museum) would probably take more time than anyone would be willing to take on a building, so here are a few other requests, some seemingly easy, others more on the challenging side (but still practical and definitely possible).

Since I do not know how to use the BAT program, what I list as easy just looks to be a simple building, whether I know how simple it really is, is something I'll never know (the same for for the difficult).

...Anyway, most of these buildings are from Sydney (as there are not many (or any) buildings from this spectacular city in BAT form) or from Hong Kong (the skyscraper capital of the world), but all of the buildings are quite superficially outstanding.

The Seemingly Easy:

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Governor%20Phillip%20Tower.jpg align=baseline>

The Governor Phillip Tower, Sydney (yes, the one from M:I-2) ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//126%20Phillip%20Street.jpg align=baseline>

126 Phillip Street, Sydney ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Two%20International%20Finance%20Centre.jpg align=baseline>

Two International Finance Centre, Hong Kong ^

OUB Centre, Singapore ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Trump-Tower.jpg align=baseline>

The Trump Tower, New York ^

The Seemingly Intermediate:

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Sydney%20Tower.jpg align=baseline>

Sydney Tower ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Chifley%20Tower.jpg align=baseline>

Tour EDF, Paris (La Defense) ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Tour-Societe-Generale.jpg align=baseline>

Tour Societe Generale, Paris (La Defense) ^

The Seemingly Challenging (maybe overly so, maybe not):

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Aurora%20Place.jpg align=baseline>

Aurora Place, Sydney (my favourite building in Sydney after the Opera House) ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Burj%20Al%20Arab.jpg align=baseline>

Burj Al Arab, Dubai ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//gal_cv_img01_1.jpg align=baseline>

Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (it'd cool if made to be half on land and half on water) ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Hong%20Kong%20&%20Shanghai%20Bank.jpg align=baseline>

Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank (one of the greatest buildings ever made!) ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Kansai%20International%20Airport.jpg align=baseline>

Kansai International Airport, Osaka (it would be orgasmic if someone would build this!) ^

<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Kansai%20International%20Airport%202.jpg align=baseline>

Kansai International Airport Layout ^

I'm pretty sure that none of these buildings would go unnoticed within Simtropolis, and each of them would be worth the time. Thank You for taking them into consideration.

Kansai Airport already exists in form...if not actually as an entire plop...If you haven't tried it yet...Down Load Joergs Airport Pack from the stex...

There is also additional terminal buildings available for use with the pack...You can build all manner of airports... You'll like it a lot more than a little

Can't help you with the other buildings, but  somebody will get around to them especially if you peaked an interest...

Personally I hope you get the Hong Kong Convention Center...I think the one included in the game is quite ordinary

Regards

I plan to make a CJ documenting my attempts to recreate the German city of Frankfurt, I was very fortunate to find two of the cities famous landmarks already uploaded to the STEX, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make any of these buildings:

Frankfurt Messemturm:

Twin Tower of the Deutsche Bank:

European Central Bank Building:

000009e10b2.jpg

Main Tower:

Westhafen Tower:

I understand that many of these are complicated and would be time-consuming, and wihtout them I'll be able to manage, but if anyone wants to give one of these a whirl, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to see some early 1800's romanesque revival style courthouses similar to the ones in south Texas counties. They could serve as landmarks too, but need to still function as the courthouse. Some examples could be the Bexar (San Antonio), DeWittt (Cuero), Fayette (La Grange), Gonzales (Gonzales), Lavaca (Halletsville), or I would especially like to see the style of the Victoria County (Victoria) courthouse, pictured below.

<ahttp://www.texascourthouses.com/Courthouse%20Photos/Victoria%20County%20-%20Victoria.jpg width=699>Front

width=559>right (from front)
<ahttp://www.viptx.net/vcgs/images/courthouseSnow2.jpg width=251>left (from front) covered in 18 of snow

Thanks in advance if you would be willing to help.

Don't forget that the spire in chicago is supposed to be a residential building taller than Taipei 101. approx. 1800 something feet high.

Hey....

Was wondering if anybody could do a Giant Food Store BAT.

Giant grocery stores are located throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.

Here's the logo: logo_lg_giant.gif

Usually there is a small near ground level sign out in front of the store.

Many Giant's also have gas stations, here's a gas station logo that is on the gas station roof: GIANT_gasolinelogo.jpg

Here's a few of the best pictures I could get of one of them:
giants_1.jpg
giants_2.jpg(as you can see there are other stores in this shopping center as well, but the Giant should cut off to the left of the second brick arch from the right)

The website is http://www.giantpa.com

Cinephile_12: Sydney Tower is available over at SimCityCentral.net (which reminds me that I need to re-download it!)

I would second your request for Chifley, 126 Philip (was great seeing this one rising!), GPT, and I'll also add a few more Sydney ones (shots of all of these can be found on Emporis):

- Australia Square Tower (the round one in the GPT shot)
- MLC centre (we don't have many hex buildings)
- World Tower (for the ones wanting a challenge. Mainly because I happen to like it. It's also getting quite the rep now (this is a resi).
- The QVB (Queen Victoria Building). A Very nice shopping centre. Very European in feeling.

Finally, Sydney Central Station (for those that REALLY want to take on a true challenge). This is a complex victorian structure, and to boot it has 23 above ground plaforms. Only consider this one if you have absolutely no life. 19.gif

i didn't see any requests for this in my searches and i think it'd be a fabulous addition: retirement / nursing homes. these would be very necessary for the larger / older communities get. if possible it could also add to the health rating of the community, provide jobs, etc. etc.

TIA
Carwic

Hey Out there...

In my travels I have seen elevated walkways in many cities...The two that come to my mind first are the enclosed Skyway in Minneapolis... The the walkway in Baltimores inner harbor area...
I would be great if some fo the Bat Experts could work that one out...It would have to a NAM addition. 29.gifKind of like the Rail of street and Avenue puzzle pieces...

Probably because I have a certain childhood affinity for Walt Disney World and EPCOT Center, I tend to name my 'experimental' cities in a region 'EPCOT' and number them.

I've always been fascinated with the original vision for EPCOT (being the planned dome-encapsulated expiremental prototype city of tomorrow) -- thus, my experiments for a prototype city in Sim City take on the moniker.

All I need is the World's Fair looking geodesic sphere that houses the ride Spaceship Earth to be the center piece of any finished EPCOT I build.

If anyone could make a decent reproduction (and it could be inflated so it isn't dwarfed by surrounding skyscrapers) I'd be very appreciative.

Ploppable landmark is all I ask for!

cheers!

I have always wanted to see some of my downtown Kansas City buildings made someday. I think they'd be worth the effort. Here are some pictures. The 2 tallest buildings you'l see are:

Taller= Town Pavilion
Tallest=Transamerica Building

Smaller2.jpg

Smaller.jpg
I sure hope someone can get these! 19.gif

EDIT: Almost forgot, that stone tall building is the Kansas City Power and Light Building.

You're forgetting One Kansas City Place, and it's within your pics.  It is the tallest in KC.

I too live in KC, and would love to have any of these buildings BAT'd, although Kauffman Satdium would be really cool too.

I was wondering if someone could make this possible.  The building that Im requesting is a Mission in Tucson, Az.  San Xavier del Bac - also known at the White Dove of the Desert - is one of many missions established by Jesuit missionary and explorer, Father Eusebio Francisco Kino.  This Mission is one of 10 old mission in the Southwest.

Below are some pics of San Xavier

Ok here's a few buildings from my home city of Preston in Lancashire, England...

This is the Bus Station built in the 60s as you probably guessed from the design! It has 80 bays and is going to be demolished in a few years to allow over half a billion pounds worth of regeneration in the city centre. It's quite a simple design and I think it might be quite a unique landmark in the game, as it certainly is (or was!) in Preston.

bus1.jpg

bus2.jpg

bus3.jpg

bus4.JPG
That's a simple job I did in paint, to give an idea of the side view, though as you can tell from the pics above, the tiers are closer together. By the way the 4 upper levels are used as a car park with ramps like this joining at either end...

ramps.jpg

OK, and this is the Harris Art Gallery and Museum which opened in 1893 funded by the money of a wealthy solictor who left his money to the town when he died. It overlooks the Flag Market...

harris1.jpg

harris2.jpg

I understand its not the easiest of buildings to recreate but I thought I'd share it with you all anyway, someone may want it for their city or to share with you guys 35.gif

Finally, St Walburges Church 44.gif if someone can manage to make this, please do! It's gorgeous and dominates Preston's skyline with a church spire of 95 metres making it the fifth tallest in the UK. More info is available at http://www.stwalburges.org/ for anyone who's interested in making this.
