six lanes each way, or a total of 12 lanes, right? I live in Raleigh, NC with a measily population of half a million, and we have a 10 lane highway! It was built during the 60s I believe, the planners were evidently very optimistic about future city growth.

But I must point out, that highway almost NEVER backs up. If an exit jam or accident blocks two lanes or less during the height of rush hour it barely slows down. Otherwise the average speed is about 80mph.

There are at least 3 different expanded highway mod projects going on in the transit modding secion.  The 65,535 (ffff) cap is only applicable per tile and these networks take up 2 tiles in each direction upping the max to 131,070.  That is an idealic figure because for that to work, the cars would have to be evenly distributed on the two tiles.  If there was a way to do that, then it would definately improve the gameplay experience for the more extreme city builder.
