  1. Uncontrolled Riot

    ^ Yes... strange that.
  2. World Trade Center

I love this thread and largely agree with the consensus. If we must build the new design, then This new design would be better as shorter twin towers, about half the height, and no spire on top. Scrap the stone fortress, its rediculous. But, Trump's idea is excellent as well. I personally do not care which they build, but one rediculously high tower would mar the skyline, photo-takers the world over will need to pan up, introducing way too much head room for the rest of the city. The Tallest Building is rediculous and childish. Two towers baby, about 110 stories (maybe 111). But what can we do to make our thoughts heard? Is there already an organization working to get a plan such as we want implemented?
  3. Personally i dont know why the US-Govorment dosnt seem to be able to fight the Poverty From the last study I read the latest surge in poverty was largely driven by a surge in immigration from various third world nations. For example, the Mexican economy become specifically bad shortly after 2000, strongly encoraging immigration to the US. Overall, something like 2 million immigrants come to the US every year now, compared to only 1 million a decade ago, each one ends up living in poverty for as much as 10 years while they aclamate to living and working in America. One politician told me the surest way to fight poverty in America is to secure the border against illegal immigrants.
  4. Too many people on the highway

six lanes each way, or a total of 12 lanes, right? I live in Raleigh, NC with a measily population of half a million, and we have a 10 lane highway! It was built during the 60s I believe, the planners were evidently very optimistic about future city growth. But I must point out, that highway almost NEVER backs up. If an exit jam or accident blocks two lanes or less during the height of rush hour it barely slows down. Otherwise the average speed is about 80mph.
  5. // In my personal opinion America was/is like a modern Rome // and will suffer the same fate I think you are mis-judging the cause/effect. America will not suffer the fate of Rome because it is like Rome, but because all civilizations eventually decline. As such, Frace today may be nothing like Rome, but it will face the same fate, as well as Canada and Mexico and Russia and China etc. etc. Yesterday I was driving down I-95 (North Carolina) and passed a Pilot station charging $2.84. I figured I would turn around and get some, but after taking the exit there stood a station with a sign reading A-TEX or something similar, I had never seen one before, they were charging a measily $2.59 a gallon! I was so shocked I had to ask the station owner. Evidently it is a new brand attempting to enter the market around here. I only wish they had started out closer to where I live
  6. No, not really. High capacity = high cost! Often, traffic congestion can be alleviated sufficiently simply by building another road near by. If these roads become congested, consider upgrading them to one way roads (one each way). The point is, roads cost $0.1, highways cost $1, so you can get 10 tiles of road for every tile of highway used. Sacrifice space to minimize expenses. Later on you can come back and replace them with cool looking expressways Of course, this assumes you have the NAM installed with perfect path-finding, otherwise the sims are too stupid to avoid congestion.
  7. NAM: Requests

I would request B9) be implemented for ground highways - Straight Ramp - one way Road Second, one way roads do not seem to have the necessary pieces to cross a sunken highway. More sunken highway ramps capable of escaping the ditch without flubbing up the terrain. Other than these minor inconsistencies, NAM ROCKS!
