Thanks for your kind comment TMS, I really appreciate it! I didn't post many region pics before, I didn't like the quality we had with the ingame camera. But with that utility, it's easier and better.
    Take care!

Time to get out of the closet for me, Darmok.
I just cannot wait and to shout out to you that you are a GENIUS.
Pictures like this update are gems. You do not have to show a lot to make an impression!

Do you let those commercials grow or do you plop some of them like those deadwood stations?

Looks amazing! I like the way you use the GLR, it's just wonderfull! And nice regional pic, although, I wonder what is going on in Osgiliath... 38.gif. Maybe Sauron is doing evil stuff again...18.gif

    Keep up the great work!

Hey, thanks for the welcome and for supplying those additional tech shots; it's like ask and you shall receive (I'm impressed). I'll probably never post a CJ, so I really appreciate those of you who do. No criticisms here - please keep it up! 1.gif

Glad I could help you for the region shot. I agree a bit with Alek, a bit chaotic but beautiful. I like how you put the highrises in a rather limited area. And there is lots of free hilly area ... which leads me to the big question: Will there be farms a la Nardo? 2.gif42.gif

About the slope for the GLR: Tramways are designed for having their rails in the streets. Thus they are shorter and lighter than heavy railways but regarding to their weight they are stronger and have better brakes. There are some section in Karlsruhe (a 275.000 inhabitant town with an extensive tramway network, an unbroken tramway history and one of the best faculties for civil engineering - I do know since I made my diploma there!16.gif) with slopes up to 4 - 6 %.31.gif

So in general GLR may have the same slopes as roads and avenues.

Nice commercial area. I like how you changed the plaster under the GLR close to that tramay station where the cycleway is crossing. Sweat little detail! 44.gif

Oh, and International BAT Merchandising ... 18.gif17.gif

The Dunkin' Donuts - hmm maybe they have special delivery service to the personal on the trains? They have long shifts on every day of the year ....19.gif

great update as usual! Hope you didn't become too drained by all those vampires ... 11.gif

    Hey, John

Nice updates, my friend! I especially like the way you are showing the GLR network through out Osgiliath. And the nice hotels are a good touch. I like the slope along the hotel, it looks very nice with the additional PEG seasonal trees at Fall. Cool usage of Ill_tonkso's BATs I'm sure he would be proud! 2.gif

    Take care

    Hey John:

I guess it's my turn to say sorry for not posting lately.43.gif RL and to be honest playing around with the LE and BAT have taken up most of my time lately43.gif I see many skyscrapers appearing my friend and you have beautifully laid out the lanscape around them. I'm quite sure you have done some LE yourself recently2.gif
I love the region pick as well. That would take me a looooong time to get a region that big. WOW, looks great. Are you using cycledoggs terrain MOD? Perhaps adding jeronijs snow MOD would come in handy soon29.gif. It's beautiful nonetheless...19.gif Very creative rail and bus network my friend. You never cease to amaze me my friend with your creativity.44.gif
    See you soon pal/...48.gif

    John,

As always this was a great update.  Your use of the cycleways and Jeroni's walkways are simply masterful.  It certainly gives your city something extra.

My favority part of the update...the part that had me laughing for 5 minutes...was how you took the IBM building and made it your own.  You know, kind of like the old man in the Little Debby commercial -- he really made the song his own.  That was great...funny! 17.gif  Seriously though, I liked how you put the gated entrances there...that is pretty much how any facility like that is in real life.

Great work as always my friend... keep em coming... 44.gif

    Nik-Nik
Welcome to Anduin Valley, glad to read you and out of lurking mode!
Thanks for taking the time to voice your opinion, and I'm not sure that my wife would agree with the Genius bit 18.gif, though it's much appreciated buddy! 19.gif
Come back anytime you feel like it!
    Take care!

    YAH
Yeah, Sauron is everywhere! Just this morning, I've read in the Osgiliath Bugler, that someone saw him at the Dunkin Donut's last night! 18.gifThanks for the visit man!

    dzgill
Well dzgill, you'll find that I do a lot of tech shots, done it since the beginning. As for the updates, I have a couple of weeks of material (pictures) ready to be processed, so I'm less stressed by a deadline. Took the trick from Jeroni. I just have less free time these days so my pictures bank is kind of a bit reduced, but the situation should come back to normal in a few weeks.
As for the criticism, as long as it is polite and constructive I have nothing against it. If you look a few updates back Jason and Bernhard suggested some corrections, and they were good ones!
Alright I'm stepping down of my soapbox 18.gif, so again, feel right at home and come back anytime!

    Bernhard
Hopefully I'll learn how to put a decent highrise sector with time and effort. WINK
The farms a la Nardo, should be in the following cities, (too late for Osgiliath, there is NO agricultural demand whatsoever 34.gif ). But I have agricultural plans for at least two other medium cities.
Your tramway documentary is VERY appreciated my friend, I'm always eager to learn new things, and as there aren't that much tramways in Canada I have no firsthand knowledge about them. So the info about their capacity is invaluable.
And my guess was that when you're waiting for your tram, the odor of fresh brewed java plus a good doughnut must be irresistible! 2.gif
I was a bit weak after the vampires visit, BTW you know the story about the vampire who was working at the Blood Bank? Well, he was fired, because he was drinking on the job! (Yeah, another bad one 2.gif )
Have a great week my friend
    Take care

    Chris
I really like IlTonkso's bats, moreso those who are transit enabled, they are really unique, and add a great touch to any city! I wanted the slope before the hotel to be just so, fortunately It was easy to achieve, I did it on the first try! (It's not that way everytime). And with the Info Bernhard just gave me about the trams, it looks like it's an acceptable slope for the GLR.
Always good to read you Chris
    Take care!

    Metasmurf
Welcome to Anduin Valley Metasmurf, I'm always pleased to see new faces!
Thanks for taking the time to comment, do come back anytime! (Great avatar BTW! 44.gif )

    Steve
18.gif We all have our RL problems don't we! And to be honest, it's been at least two weeks that I've worked with the LE! 34.gif.
As for the region, well it did take me a looooong time, 18.gif, I begun the region mid january if memory serves me right. And the CJ itself february 4th 2005, so CJ wise it's almost nine months now! 46.gif I really didn't expect that result! But the support is so great that it just keeps me going! 19.gif
Yes I'm using Cycledog mod, AND Jeroni's snowcap mod, but unfortunately for some unknown reason it doesn't work! I've tried several times, but no dice 15.gif !
Thanks for your support Steve, and take care!

    S_A_
    Thanks man!

    Deathtoall
Glad you appreciate DTA, and how can one go wrong with SA Cycleways!

    Jacky
    Thanks Jacky!

    Vicavulpe
Welcome to Anduin Valley Vicavulpe, hummmm, a latin avatar, and a curious one at that! vulpe = small fox, but vica is quite intriguing! used in Vica Versa and a lot of other names but no real definition found! you have me baffled here! 42.gif Thanks for your kind words, and feel free to visit anytime you want!
    Take care!

    Vegeta The Puppet
    Welcome to Anduin Valley, Vegeta!
Thanks for your encouragement it's really appreciated! 44.gif
    Take care

    chocolatemax
43.gif - Thanks, I'm pleased to see that you enjoy AVR so much! It makes all the efforts worthwhile.
    Take care!

    Jason
Those lots are so simple and yet so elegant that they're really a great asset for everyone!
Glad you enjoyed the IBM bit 2.gif, for once one of my joke wasn't so bad. 18.gif
And the gated parking lots were used exactly for the purpose of making that bat look more secure, good eye there!
BTW Redownloaded you props pack, and saw the readme... glad to be of some help!
    Enjoy the week my friend!

Hi! I am impressed. I don't think so many people know very much latin in these times. Yes, vulpe does means fox in latin and also in my native language of romanian. It is also my family name. Vica is just short for Victoria - my given name. If you want, you can just think of me as Victoria Fox - I think this family name is usual in English too.

Thank you for your personal message and thank you again for this great city journal! I will follow your progress with great interest!

You never cease to amaze me John.  Your command of the game is simply inspiring.  IMB eh?  For once you gave us a fairly good joke2.gif

I really like the area with the two bus stops connected by the trail crossing the GLR line.  Brilliant.

    Take care my friend.

i love the way you make the gentle slope for the Rail as it goes up the hills it makes it look very real... but doesnt everything else look real in this CJ 3.gif

o yea this CJ is so [insert Favorite Adjective]!!! 9.gif

    Pika
Thanks man! As I've often said, parking space is mostly what we forget to put in our cities, the bigger the building the bigger the parking! I know that in cities lots of parking space is underground but nevertheless, some ordinary ones are always needed.
    Take care

    Vegeta The Puppet
The more the merrier Vegeta, as for the comments, they are always appreciated. 44.gif
And there's so much great CJ's in Simtropolis, I understand that one cannot reply to each and every update.

    Victoria (vicavulpe)
I don't speak latin mind you! 2.gif I took a course way back in high school, and that's about it! Though etymology has always interested me. 19.gif And it's fun to investigate an unusual avatar, one that has a real story behind it! And besides, when we read latin citations, we can see that they are as true today as they were two thousand years ago! As for your family name, it is what it is, and Vulpe is really fine. So again thank you for your kind words and interest, hoping to see you in Anduin Valley again.
    Enjoy the weekend Victoria.
    Salutari!
(I sure hope that the romanian dictionary I found is good! 34.gif )

    YAH
If you call Gandalf, please tell him that he forgot his hat at Magott's Brewery last week! 2.gif

    Dan
Speakin of Magott's here's the manager! How's it going? I'm a bit worried about you my friend, you must be a little under the weather if you like my bad jokes 2.gif.

Seriously, I know I can count on you for a good, unbiased opinion. Though I must say that you just made me blush with the first part of your message there 43.gif. Thanks for that, It'll give me the boost I need to finish Osgiliath, It's really the most difficult city I had to build until now, like it wants to go in several directions at the same time! 46.gif
    **stepping on soapbox**
And I must give the credit where it's due for the bus stops connected with Jeroni's walkways . This comes straigth from seeing you do something similar with YOUR BUS STOPS in La Plaisance . So as far as the command of the game is concerned, the feeling is mutual my friend, 19.gif
    **stepping down the soapbox**
    Have a great weekend!

    Thatmonkeysim
Perhaps one day I'll be able to make one that is as efficient as good looking. I'll keep at it, I think the GLR is one of the most fun transit system in the game, Hats off to the creators! 44.gif
I'm glad to see you like it's layout, and I hope you'll like what's comming in the next updates.
    Thanks for the support buddy!

    Godwin
