    MrCinatit,
    First let me Welcome you to Anduin Valley, and thank you for your visit!
    Thanks for your comments, and no it was not like that before, I've tried (two three minutes) to put it like it was before SEE pic 2_08 in that post : https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/view.asp?mode=viewtopic&topicID=59816&num=30&pageNo=14#510632

    It was not perfect but somewhat good, (still working on terraforming good beaches) but the CD mod kind of lifted or squared the edges, making them more rocky!

    So again thanks for the visit, and do come back you're always welcome!

    godwin
    Thanks, Will have to be tomorrow though, on lunch break now!
    But I'll give you the info no problemo! (Hey! it rhymes!)

    Dhoppe
    Thanks D. Yeah I like using those trails, very useful!
    And I've followed your advice I PM'ed the moderator (Mr.Cinatit) about it. I hope he can help!

    Another Outstanding Update29.gif

    I really like what you did around the Church....The European buildings in close proximity are perfect and the ones on the cliff side are great.

    The trails and the farms here look great...I really like some of the enterances you built leading up to the farm.  Nice touch.

    Looks like your freight train's got a tailgater there...31.gif

    The Hotel is a beautiful BAT.  Looks to me like it would have sophisticated rooms....and that water tower looks cool.

    Ahhh, pic 2_10, there is that driveway I mentioned earlier....Looks fantastic.

    The Wildflowers across from the church are a nice touch....and the ped. tunnel under the bridge is a cool idea.

    You continue to amaze my friend.....

    And welcome to page 21....44.gif

    A Wonderful journal! I think I have not visited for awhile. I love all those pix. The farms are very scenic. In one of the pics it show a wooden like structure under the road(terrain). Is this a mod? I will visit more often. Very impressive.

    Hey Darmok,

    I like the banner and the shots of the coast they look great, I am just really liking those farm shots. I like the little freight train station, really nice trains too. That church is really nice, I love the surroundings of it.
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    As far as your problems goes, I have fixed a few people's avatars and signatures because they weren't working by logging onto their names and uploading their avatar or whatever for them. Not saying you would want me to do that. Just PM me if you would like me to do that.

    Thar she blows.  Nice touch...2.gif  That is definitely a nice picture...I like how the whales appear in the water.

    The church looks good...that little section definitely suits the church.  And it looks like you are getting better with the Farming EP...2.gif  Now it's my turn to get good with it...  17.gif

    And the trails are coming along nicely as well.  I like the pine trails, but for certain cases the forrest trails look better I think.  Oh yeah, that windmill by the freight station...was that the remnants of something else or something you plopped?  It would look cool in some farming area for some of the lots that don't already have windmills.

    The hotel, the scenic road, the... oh well, the whole thing is cool!  44.gif  The whole area is coming along nicely.

    Keep em coming...

    Welcome to Anduin Valley! The wooden thing is part of the regular game and appears when you lay a road in a too steep place. It then give you those boxed support.

    Thanks dragon, I think you're the first commenting on the change of color for the banner. And double thanks for trying to help with the sig. I'm waiting for an answer from the admins, Mr Cinatit as forwarded the problem to them. I never had any problems doing it before, so it's kind of strange!

    Sorry about the delay godwin, Yesterday I came home around 11 O'clock (after a Charity event) and just had the time to post on some CJ's (must pay a visit sometimes hey!) and did'nt had the time to even open SC4. You're the only one so far to mention the old whalers cry! For the farming I hope that someday I'll do as good as Dhoppe on that matter. But I have fun doing it and that is the most important thing!
    The windmills are powerplants, they're cheap and powerful.

    Allright folks here's update 3

    Update 3
    Trains, terraforming and industry

    I told you before about the lack of significant pictures in North Cair Andros, as I'm working on Dol Amroth right now, I don't have much time to come back to NCA to redo them. So I've sorted what was left of them, and organized them as best as I could to present them in a somewhat orderly fashion. This one will have only 8 pics, but the last three will range from 13 to about 18 pics. Hope you'll apreciate them.

    I installed marrast train station, (which I very often use) and was not wholly satisfied with that particular look in that context. At that time Pegasus new rural train stations appeared and that was the ticket!

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//can_up_3_01.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//can_up_3_02.jpg align=baseline>

    Terraforming the pedestrian tunnel. I wanted both side of the tunnel to be level, so I had to destroy the scenic road, and do the terraforming and then rebuild it! I've recently reworked it so it is by now more smooth looking!

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//can_up_3_03.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//can_up_3_04.jpg align=baseline>

    Some parks for the children, though I wouldn't want to live in the block near the skate park!

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//can_up_3_05.jpg align=baseline>

    Zoning and growing of the new industrial sector, with trails.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//can_up_3_06.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//can_up_3_07.jpg align=baseline>

    And an overview so far!

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//can_up_3_08.jpg align=baseline>

    Another one gone by three more to go and we will move to a more industrial and commercial city, Anfalas.

    Thanks for your support, 44.gif continue to visit and leave a comment if you like.

    Take care
    Darmok

    Hey Darmok,

    The coast line shots of North Cair Andros are really nice, I like what you have done with the rocks, looks great, I might do something like that in Palm Point. The industry shots look promising, I am looking forward to seeing what grows there. I will see ya later amigo.

    I hope you get your situation fixed, I will look forward to see Palm Point in your sig, it is a great honor to see it in there once it is fixed. 48.gif

    Darmok my man.....Loved the update...I really don't get a ton of time to get online and post, but when I do, I try to cover everything I can.  This is usually my wind down time.  I like to visit as many CJ's as possible for inspiration and some of the off topic conversations for fun.  I try to get a couple of hours a week playing the game too.  As summer creeps in though, I find that time harder to come by.

    Now the update.

    PEG's stations fit perfectly there and I like the two next to each other especially with the Nexis Grain Lot next door.

    I really like how you use those ped. tunnels, I can't seem to get the hang of them.

    Why wouldn't you want to live near the skate park?  Aren't you from or use to be from Canada?  I thought eveyone up there could skate eh?

    I like the mix of industrial near the farms, it seems realistic to me.  At least in my little corner of the world.

    And as always, I enjoy your global shots....You always seem to pick the right angle.

    Thanks for a great update my friend....

    Regards,

    D

    D,

    As usual another cool update.  First, let me start with the train stations.  Marrast's stations look good in metropolitan areas, but you really have to work on the area to get it to look good.  Your transformation to what you have now with PEG's rural stations looks good.  I like how you have the in and out roads for each station.  If the roads were longer, I might suggest one way roads going in and out...that would really make them seem like entrances and exits.

    The pedestrial tunnel looks good...I see you are getting the hang of that set of trails.  2.gif44.gif

    The school...well, what kid ever wants to live close to school?! 28.gif32.gif47.gif2.gif17.gif

    The industrial area looks good.  Have you ever considered using the alley sets?  The industrial alley might look kind of cool in an industrial sector...I'm gonna have to try it as well. 2.gif

    The overview shot look good.  I'm gonna have to work on my terraforming...in some areas my CJ looks too flat...*sigh* 47.gif

    Overall, the CJ is coming along great...looks cool!  44.gif

    Keep em coming...

    DragonAnime
    Thanks dragon! I had fun terraforming Cair Andros, somewhat I feel more free doing it in a rural environnement, less constraint to deal with!
    And for my sig, MrCinatit and SkiGeek fixed the problem, a similar username was blocking my updates. So it's fixed now thanks to them! 44.gif

    dhoppe
    Yeah I understand about finding free time, 21.gif spent a couple of hours sunday on a dandelion hunt on the front yard! War is on man!  And it's ugly! 22.gif
    And then I had to do the assembly of a new outdoor fireplace, and... well I guess you know that tune too hey! 2.gif

    Those stations I really like! And I saw you using it sideways! are they still operational with the rail that way?

    Well the ped tunnels are not that difficult to place, except in that particular location as the wall is not perfectly vertical, there's a slight gap, but quite acceptable!

    As most of my industry in that sector is Hi-tech, it's easier to integrate it in a res or agricultural sector.

    So thanks for the visit and when relaxing and having a cold one, just have a thought for your friend up north! Who by the way is not skating all year, thank god! 18.gif

    Glad you appreciate it Cjah, just having fun with the game and trying things!

    Thanks for your kind words Boo, as for the trails though those ones are the Deadwood forest trails, less structured than the Peg ones, I like both of them just thought to try those for a while!
    Don't mention it for the answer, as I've said many times, I'm really glad that I can in a small way help others the same way I was helped, (and still am) in Simtropolis.

    godwin1020
    Thanks godwin, I'll have to go see your CJ these day, as soon as I can!
    Hope that the links could help you!

    Aldara
    Thanks man, and I agree about the school, I would not have wanted to live near one too when I was a kid! Now is another matter though, would easier transportwise! 2.gif

    Thanks for your suggestion about the alleys, I used them in MT and Belfalas, I just wanted a more relaxed look in CA.

    And as for terraforming I guess we're all learning new tricks everyday. 19.gif

    So folks, see you tomorrow for update 4

    Take Care

    Hey Darmok.  Just wanted to drop by and answer your question.  I have not had any problems with the rail stations working.  I think that they only need touch the rail like the standard stations.  Hey and BTW, the new sig looks good.

    I haven't skated in almost a year as well.  The knees just don't hold up like they used to.

    Thanks for the info D. That was something I didn't know I always assumed that the rail had to go behind the station!

    Don't mention it godwin! Glad to help.

    your_adress_here
    Thanks Yah!, and for the trails, As I changed the train station, the modification to connect the trail came a little bit later, you'll see it in this update in pic 4.06

    And now lads and lasses here's the continuing story of Bungalow Bill... oops, sorry wrong thread, Cair Anndros.

    Update 4
    Terraforming and chapel

    Up to pic 4_07 Is the only time I could take more than two pictures without restarting the game! Sometimes the crashes were so severe that the PC rebooted itself!

    So here we go

    Some terraforming for the future commerce and industrial area

    can_up_4_01.jpg

    The terraforming of the cliff.

    can_up_4_02.jpg

    can_up_4_03.jpg

    Now this part I like (If you allow me to say so) It's a little thing but I like it nonetheless! I wanted a very gentle slope to go down from the cliff so I decided to do it diagonaly, and it did the trick!

    can_up_4_04.jpg

    can_up_4_05.jpg

    I wanted more than one road access to the lower side of town so I terraformed another access point! Straight down this one.

    can_up_4_06.jpg

    can_up_4_07.jpg

    This I had fun with (in spite of the fact that I could'nt take much pictures of it! Crashes came back!) I thought that this would be a good spot for a chapel

    can_up_4_08.jpg

    can_up_4_09.jpg

    An overview

    can_up_4_10.jpg

    Just a detail to show what I mean when I say that I try to avoid to steep slopes!

    can_up_4_11.jpg

    The pedestrian tunnel that goes to the industrial sector! As this is the main road connecting South and North Cair Andros and that the traffic is heavy, the city council decided to put a pedestrian tunnel here.

    can_up_4_12.jpg

    can_up_4_13.jpg

    And we'll finish this one, with two shots of the development near the cliff.

    can_up_4_14.jpg

    can_up_4_15.jpg

    As the sun comes down on Cair Andros so this updates ends.

    Please do not hesitate to comment or ask questions, I'm all ears! hummm.. or I should say all eyes since I'll read you...

    Thanks again ever so much for the great comments and support, without which this CJ would mean strictly nothing! 44.gif44.gif

    So till next time folks

    Take care
    Darmok

    Well D, another great update.  I love your terraforming, it always looks so natural even though it is so planned and man-made.  29.gif2.gif

    I have a question...the building in the next to the last picture...right around the middle of the pic...the A-frame building with the mesh looking front.  What is that?  It looks cool...is it a museum or something?

    Your CJ is great.  You always manage to pack so much in to your cities without making them look crowded.  Same with the updates, there is always so much to look at.  I love it!  4.gif

    Darmok - Fantastic update.  Another great use of the ped. tunnel in the first pic I see.  Some interesting buildings there as well.

    I always enjoy your technical shots.  I enjoy seeing how it gets done.

    Looks like something interesting may be happening there in the bottom right corner of pic 4_04.  Perhaps we will find out later?42.gif

    What I really like about this update is the chapel area.  Very nicely done indeed.  I just love how you wrapped the dirt trails around it.

    I like how you are mixing your agricultural lots with the rest of your development.  They seem to coexist without interfering with each other.

    Bravo my friend.

    hey Darmok,

    I really enjoyed all the pics, especially the Chapel shots, and yes the trails again, really great. I love what you have done with connecting the trails in such a urban looking area, great idea. I noticed something in 4_13 there is a farm in the middle of that urban area, kinda strange but I like it. 1.gif

    Take care, and to next time,
