Or at the very least for starting

    Yep power lines can mess up a city, that's why very often I'll put windmills. Thanks for the comments about the baseball park, but I'm not sure that I'll leave it that way, the jury is still out on that one. 42.gif
    TGA
    Thanks for your continuous support it is really appreciated, 44.gif and yes I'm glad that people take the time to help me with things I've overlooked, it's never too late to learn new tricks!  16.gif
    As for suing, well I can say that so far no accidents happened!  20.gif
    Jeroni
    I perfectly understand that you don't have much time, I'm still amazed of what you can accomplish in 24 hours! Thank you for the compliment, and Eladremme is indeed a beautifull CJ19.gif But my favorite is Columbia River!  1.gif
    Mi ciudad es su ciudad, amigo! 16.gif  And you're welcome to come here as much as you like!  44.gif
    dhoppeii
    You're welcome, 19.gif  as for the special gift, don't worry, Mayor Darmok is working on something, for the regular visitors of Minas Tirith, and in the meantime please accept my thanks, and as I say often, the support you all showing me keeps me going, without it there would not be a CJ. Thanks a million to all.  44.gif
    your_adress_here
    Man I just realized that you put Anduin Valley in you sig! That is a very nice gesture, 3.gif  and much appreciated! As for the park I'm still juggling with other ideas!  34.gif
    All right! now let's put that show on the road!

    UPDATE 16
    starring pics from phase 20 and a special serie!

    ban_n_com_res_jero.jpg

    This phase is dedicated to a special friend of Mayor Darmok.
    (Note that I didn't use at that time the abandonment mod, so some buildings shows it, that'll be repaired very soon!)
    You can witness here the biggest task done by Click Plop and Son for the terraforming of Jeroni Plaza, they set a lot of explosives patches (very hightech stuff) on the ground to be leveled and then....

    phase_20_015.jpg

    BOOM!
    phase_20_016.jpg

    The Ritz Carlton, seized the first interesting lot near the future plaza.

    phase_20_017.jpg

    Work is going well on the construction site!

    phase_20_018.jpg

    phase_20_019.jpg

    Now a global pic of the finished (almost) plaza
    (some area has been hidden for security reason.)  38.gif
    Please also note that I'm trying very hard at the moment to break the McCormick Plaza building repetition, but everytime I buldoze one it is replace 4 out of 5 times by another McCormick 26.gif  so it's a loooong process, as soon as it is to my liking I'll post a new global shot of the plaza.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_006a.jpg align=baseline>

    Here you see the proposed flight path of the Mayor's helicopter to show you the plaza in close-ups

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_006b.jpg align=baseline>

    We begin with the backyard of the Ritz Carlton,

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_007.jpg align=baseline>

    A wealthy entrepreneur build two Walkup Towers face to face.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_008.jpg align=baseline>

    Nearing the Opera sector! And the Mayor commemorative statue. (note the water inlet below the statue that lead to a water purifying facility hidden under it!)

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_009.jpg align=baseline>

    The Opera, Museum and train station.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_010.jpg align=baseline>

    Another angle for the museum. old farmer McCormick who owned the land before, sure is wealthy now with all those condos bearing his name!

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_011.jpg align=baseline>

    School busses in front of the City history Museum.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_012.jpg align=baseline>

    A rear view of the statue and parks.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_013.jpg align=baseline>

    Back to the Ritz

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_014.jpg align=baseline>

    And we finish our flight with a close up of the Statue Park

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_016.jpg align=baseline>

    That update is to salute Jeroni, who made this CJ possible by the inspiration he's given me, and a lot of others too i'm sure!  44.gif

    So there it is!

    Update 17 will come later this week as soon as I can find some free time. I thank you all for your patience and continuous support.

    Take care !

    Great job on the update! I've been following this CJ since the beginning, and it's about time I commented. It's definately one of the best CJs out there. The amount of detail shown here inspired me to do the same in my own CJ.

    BTW, I remember an old Anduin Valley region from a long time ago, probably almost two years now. So is that why this is called Anduin Valley Revisited? Thanks.

    Again, great job, this is one of the best CJs. 10.gif

    Hi Darmok,

    46.gifWOW !!!46.gif

     This is not a park, this is 25.gifTHE PARK. [:0] 39.gif39.gif39.gif

    Man, I have no words to describe how much I like this Area. You should be named The Park Man or something like this 2.gif. You are a real artist and we can see how nuch effort you put in every single tile in Minas Tirith.
    As a wish/suggestion, I think it could be nice to see some pictures on the zoned land, before you start growing buildings. Your walkways system is so spectacular that I like to see it alone in all its magnificience. ( Maybe in two weeks??)

    Keep Minas Tirith this way. I love it. ( I have been making some testing with those nice marrast

    Very nice man!!! I have a few things to say though.

    1. To avoid the repetition, try plopping some NDEX stuff. It can really liven up your skyline!

    2. Where did you get the paths shown in the park and everywhere else in your CJ? They look good!

    3. Amazingly nice!

    Keep up the good work, cause I can't wait for the next update!

    Comdude
    Welcome officially in Minas Tirith, thanks for your good words 1.gif and I did post a thread almost two years ago, the 15th of may 2003 to be exact, and the thread was Building Minas Tirith but it was based on the same map. Unfortunately I lost that city when my HD crashed  15.gif  and I was not able to recover the saved games data or the screenshots. So it stopped there. But this time I'm making regular backups on a second HD and a DVD burner!
    Again thanks and welcome  44.gif
    Jeroni
    Amigo, You'll find the requested pic below, thanks for the title of Park Man, I do like them (the parks) a lot. 19.gif  Open spaces brings a little bit of nature to the city.
    You'll see in the pic, that I'm currently working on replacing the chain link fences lot by your new park fences, much prettier this way! 29.gif
    Thanks again for you visit!
    dhoppeii
    Hey dhoppeii, you're becoming one of the more regular poster on the CJ16.gif  and I appreciate each comment.  4.gif The two facing towers are a bit of luck but I made them historical to be sure to keep em that way. It would be great if we could also plop fully operational residential lots. Until them we have to buldoze 11.gif  and watch'em grow!
    YAH (your_adress_here)
    I hope you don't mind me nicknaming you? It'll be faster to prepare my future posts this way. If you mind just tell me, I wont take offense.
    I have 3 things to say to you.
    1.
    Your NDEX advice was a good one, 48.gif I've already downloaded some of their stuff, but this time I've made a search for them, and downloaded some 80mb zipped stuff. So now thanks to you my plugin directory, is over 580mb!!!  46.gif
    2. The walkway paths are from marrast, they're great! and if you only use one to connect two lots or streets they're even transit enabled!
    3. Thanks for the amazing comment!  44.gif
    bobinator
    Oppie's canal set is a GREAT piece of work, 3.gif  and so flexible that you can do almost anything you wish with it. Thanks the comment, and see you in SunValley! 19.gif

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//phase_jero_layout.jpg align=baseline>

    I take the opportunity here to say a big THANKS to Jeroni, Oppie, Marrast, PEG, Simgoober and all the modders and batters (I can't possibly name you all) for all the hard work you're doing that allow us to make better looking cities.
    We tend to take all those wonderful lots for granted and forgetting the efforts you put into them.

    THANK YOU ALL !!  44.gif44.gif44.gif

    See you next update!

    Take care

    That's just really greatly laid out and planed! Those statues next to the footpaths give it a great feel to! One suggestion (kinda picky): I think you should change that street to a road at the bottom of your last pic so it will go with all the avenues and stuff. 29.gif

    Hey Darmok, you make it easy to come here and post.

    You also make me feel like a complete loser at putting cities together.  I have been trying to get up the nerve to post my own CJ here, until of course, I visit Minas Tirith or the Columbia River.

    This is really a mini mini post

    Thanks again for all your nice comments, and I'll answer more to all in he next update.

    dhoppeii

    If I can give you just one piece of advice, give yourself some buffer period, this is a trick that several posters do. Work on your city for at least a couple of week or more, take lots of pictures. This way you'll have lots of updates material to work with and not be stressed by any timeline.
    And above all do it for YOU and have fun doing it. If not, whats the point!

    I can tell you that the 2 or 3 hours I work on my city every day or so, are really relaxing afer a day's work.

    Whew! I should write sermons don't you tink 17.gif

    Anyway, have fun and if you decide to do a CJ I'll sure be following it. 16.gif

    Take care

    Looking great. The park's stunning. I've just reworked my parks (as you're well aware) in my CJ.

    I'm not finished showing that yet though.

    Yeah. But keep up the good work, it's certainly paying off.

    dhopeii: It's like that for me. My CJ certainly isn't bad, but it definitely pales in comparison to these.

    Thanks, I agree about the street, it'll be changed, too much traffic on it!
    YAH
    Allright then! YAH it is, and when you think of it, it's a positive name :-)
    As for marrast walkways try em and tell us more about your experience with them after!
    Jeroni
    You're welcome, and as for keeping MT this way, you know that it is already finished, the only thing I'm doing right now between two sessions in Belfalas is replacing some chain link fences with your new park fences. 44.gif
    Speaking of which, following YAH advice and plopping some NDEX lots in Jeroni Plaza, all your cement retaining walls became transparent!  26.gif
    I shut down SC4, reopened it, no change, removed all NDEX from MT, no change! 32.gif
    So I tried deleting the walls and replopped them, and it's working! 9.gif
    So now I'll have to go all over town to do that!
    And strangely enough it didn't happened in Belfalas!
    Anyway! always glad to see you here.
    TGA
    Thanks for your appreciation, as I said before working with Oppies canal set is a breeze and you can do practicaly anything you want with them! As for the statue, i sure hope it's not me! I'm not that big! 3.gif
    dhoppeii
    Thanks for the compliment, and as I said in the previous post, just have fun with SC4, it's not a competiion, it's a game!
    jimbob
    Thank you for taking the time to comment, It's really appreciated, a comment don't have to be very long to be good! Thanks again.
    cammo
    I've seen your reworked park,  44.gif  all they needed was more random woods, they already had a good layout! And for the last part of your comment, I don't think that ANY CJ's paling in comparison with mine, what I like in Simtropolis is that we have diversity! Just to give you a simple exemple, I never tought of doing an Embassy sector in my region, now thanks to you I'll place one in one of my future cities in Anduin Valley! Yep diversity's the key! Keep at it and show us your good work!  44.gif

    Whew! 7 replies... I LOVE IT! let your comments coming!

    I think you might get some more residential development if you added some ferry or water taxi service to the rest of the city. Also, you don't really need that windmill in the lighthouse pic because Peg's random forest conducts electricity. Anyway, Rocky Point looks like it's off to a great start. 44.gif

    Love the updates, as usual.  Couple of things, where did those stairs come from on the concrete hillside things (dunno the name)?

    Love the pics of the parks.  Different idea setting it back a little with pedestrian walkways, but love it even better!

    Love the pedestrian walkways through your latest updates.  I have been obsessing over people who show that walking is an acceptable way for sims to move.  Thanks for giving me my fix!

    It is truly an honor to have been called upon to manage the Dockers.  I have been visiting Minas Tirith for some time now and have felt like this was a home away from home.  I can tell you that we are very excited about this season.  The team is really working hard here in Florida during spring training.  We have some good young talent that was added to the ball club during the off season and the money invested should pay off.

    Before I take some questions from the press, I would like to announce that Darmok, the founder of the Anduin Valley Region and Minas Tirith will be on hand for our home opener this year to throw out the first pitch.  Without the dedication of a community leader like Darmok, our new ball park would not have been possible.

    We'll see you all at the new ball park in April

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Hope you all enjoy 10.gif

    Thanks Darmok, I truly appreciate inclusion into your CJ.  I hope you don't mind that I used some of your graphics there....

    1. I like it 29.gif
    2. It could be seen as a backup power source in case of an outage, more secure this way!
    Thanks for your good words!  44.gif
