WELCOME TO PAGE 5 - Contents listing coming soon!

TWIN HARBOUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT and surrounds 49.gif

    airportterminals1wz.jpg width=800 alt=Im
The main airport terminals, T1 and T2. These terminals are (respectively) the international and Domestic terminals, and are linked by a pedbridge to speed up international/domestic flight transfer time. Most people, however travel to Manukau Central Railway station and use the domestic rail network to get around.

This is the freight terminal, T3 (though I've chosen not to label it, bottom of image).

One of the Airport's two parking lots, P1 (South). You'll notice that the parking lot has an el-station (for quick transfer to the terminals). You may also notice a tangle of el tracks - this setup allows for trains to operate into the airport loop from any direction, and also allows the loop to be isolated should the need arise. the TNR line (TransNational Rail) bypasses this mess.

Despite its proximity to the aiport, this area was allowed to develop highrise due to the area being away from the airport approach corridor.

Great looking airport cammo, particularly like the massive parking space near the EL train station.

    Keep it up!

Great Layout!  I particularly love your Embassy District and transport system, especially the tunnelled bypasses for highway and rail.  Also I enjoy the Aussie/Kiwi flavour - street names, rail station names, Sydney-style (my home) rail schematic, and your Melbourne-style major road signage.

Congratulations on inspiring a newbie simmer to make his first post.44.gif  I'll be back!

First of all, Welcome to SimTropolis! It's great to see a fellow Sydneysider (yes, I live in the harbour city also) come out of the woodwork.

You should make yourself familiar with the road marker system that Melbourne uses, as it's only a matter of time before it's applied here. Difference is we're totally killing the state routes (notice they've been disappearing?).

I have an update coming soon, also. BIG News: I've breached 200,000! On to a quarter of a million!

    RIP - Twin Harbour Region - April 2005 - June 2005

Due to a rather catastrophic incident with my computer, I have lost the Twin Harbour Region, and all my backups. I have backup CD's but cannot find them. Therefore, it is here, with heavy heart (lol) and sincere fondness that I must lay down this CJ in history.

As a result, I will start the next CJ in the SimNewtonia Series of City Journals rather sooner than originally planned. I'll hopefully have it started within the next few weeks, but I'm not going to promise anything.

This is just as frustrating for me as it is for all of you - The region is actually still on my hard drive, but I cannot access it due to the need that arose to reinstall Windows XP (thankfully, it went off without a hitch, and I don't have to reinstall SC4, which is a relief).

It's not all bad though. I did get an unexpected leap in system performance. No longer is my computer taking 2 minutes to do EVERYTHING...

SUGGESTION: How about somebody make a tombstone smilie? 'Twould be great for threads that have died too.
