On Stargate SG-1 Amanda Tapping looks as good as ever!

Nothing against her but Michael Shanks is more my type.  I'll take Daniel any day.

17.gifGood for you!!!  He turned his character from nerd to hunk! 10.gif
I could never see James Spader doing the same with the Daniel Jackson character in the original movie, although his version was much more nerdier.  Spader, btw, makes a great likeable & definitely non-nerd sleazy lawyer in Boston Legal.

I always wanted to think of Samantha Carter as a normal career military person who just happens to brainy, beautiful, my age, likes O'Neil's wisecracks, Saves The World regularly, and potentially obtainable (in a fictional way of course) and not someone who made a transition to that b/c of a career turn with StarGate Command. And for once, given the genre, I don't think Tapping acted very well in that episode. 21.gif (okay maybe the grapes are just a tad bit sour3.gif)

Indeed.  and a fine job he did of it, if I may say. 3.gif

You mean the episode that aired last night?   She was awesome!  I thought Geek-Daniel and Geek-Sam were hilarious.  Boatman-Jack seemed to be more the like the movie version: with all of the life drained out of him.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Okay okay, after Saving The World umpteen times maybe the actors deserved a chance to wink at the audience for once in this episode.   However, Boatman Jack was perfect and but he still was exactly in character!

Agreed.  Given the premise of the timeline, he was exactly in character.  But not as funny as the other two. 18.gif

    Episode on 04/01/05

Wow.  So Boomer shot the Old Man.  That was a twist I didn't see coming. The show did a great job keeping 4-5 storylines going on almost simultaneously throughout the entire episode.

Wow What a show. And  we only have to wait till July for more !

They left a LOT hanging here.
I dont think Adama will die( i dont want Tigh in command), dont under stand whe the guards didnt immeditaly shoot boomer after she shot  him.
    Pres and Apollo in prision.
Helo, Pregger Boomer and Starbuck ( and the arrrow), have away off caprica.

Cant wait for the next one.

On another note: I think the Enterprize folks actualy had a good idea to delay the final shows till
BSG and SG SG1/Atlantis had thier season enders. they might get a decent rating for the final show now.

From what I understand, Olmos is not signed for the second season, at least as of a few months ago... that would suggest he's dead for good.

Boy, that was a trippy episode. When she shot him, I almost fell out of my seat. 46.gif

I think they are still filming the second season. They started filming in March. 10 episodes will air starting in July (for the 2 Stargate shows also) and the other 10 episodes won't air until January (also for the 2 Stargates).

Everyone signed back on for the next season. Usually they would have had options in their contracts in case the show was renewed anyway. I normally wouldn't give anything spoilerish but felt I should answer your post. So if he dies it wouldn't be because the actor wasn't willing to be in the show.

I beat you to the response Easy Bakes!  (double post -admin perogative9.gif)

Draaaaama!  I was wondering if BSG would have a last minute shocker like it's been pulling in the latest episodes.  Sure enough -the Cylons landed on the ship!

I like the new opening.  It's more descriptive and shorter and the machines look much more meaner!

I am disappointed that Michael Hogan isn't in the opening credits.

I enjoyed the two StarGate season premieres, but they are still basically the standard space operas as opposed to NYPD Blue/ER/Law & Order in space like Battle Star Galactica,

The episode tonight was uber good.  I haven't watched in the past, but that was obviously a mistake...I can see I've been missing a quality show.  The only bad thing is I will have to get caught up on whats been happening in earlier episodes.

Galactiica boomer tells baltar there are 8 other cylons on the ship so he will save chief( he does). But as thier taking boom to trial the other chick they rescued from kobal kills boomer. Do you think they'll do an autopsy on Boomer?  I sure would.  And how did you like Adama strengthening the tie with Tighe?  He'll follow him to you know where and back for sure now.  Even though I think Starbuck is hot she sure is dumb.  I've got a question, my cable just hooked me up with the Sci Fi channel but I did catch the day when last season's shows were aired, but was there a something before 33?  I believe 33 was the first episode, first I saw anyways.  But I feel like I've still missed something.

There was the original, -I think it was 4 hours-, pilot, which was originally advertised as a miniseries.  I believe the tv execs were trying to decide how well it would take since it was so different in tone and style from the original series.   It was broadcast about a year before the actual new show.  The pilot/ miniseries introduced the main characters, showed the Cylons taking over the colonies, and the remnant escaping.  33 was the first episode of the first actual season and was supposed to take place only days after the invasion.

    Episode broadcast 08/12/05:

Wow, Starbuck trapped in an insane asylum ran by the Cylons;  They're appearing more Borg- like all the time.  I still have my theory they were created by a human mad scientist with a Messianic complex.

Does Apollo invoke the whole fleet to mutiny against Adama?

Ok, I've been thinking about that one... she's manipulating Tigh big time, but I'm leaning toward thinking she's just really screwed up psychologically.

Unfortunately, I've missed a couple of episodes (or only seen parts). I'm definitely going to pick this up when it's out on DVD. 29.gif

As for Stargate SG-1 (which hasn't been discussed here for a while)... I'm not enjoying the most recent episodes. The end of the Goa'uld threat was to abrupt & the rise of these new enemies to quick. Plus, it's getting a little too smug and turning into Farscape SG-1 with the addition of Ben Browder & that other woman (whose name I can't remember). Browder is no Richard Dean Anderson, who was funny without being really obvious about it. 45.gif

She got out though, but  i think they stole her eggs or made her preggers. so there will be a cylon Starbuck soon.

Preggers boomer goes to galactica next week. that should be interesting. as well as the arrow will be back as well.

I still think there are some pure mechanical intelegences behind the cylons, but the human types are going to rebel eventualy, them wanting to procreate and haveing the farms( to widen the gene pool), i think supports that theory.

That actor seems to always play a bad guy....talk about typecasting.  Glad to see Adama is going to try to put things back together.  As far as Boomer is concerned, maybe she is actually going to stop the attempt against the commander...the previews were just misleading. 2.gif

Yeah, typical James Remar role.  Perhaps in this case a foil to flesh out the Tom Zarek character more.

This episode looked like a family reunion of sorts and actually sorted out a couple of loose ends I thought they would leave dangling for a lot longer.   And the twist this week being... (Sorry EB, I know you don't see it until Monday3.gif, but let's say it's been discussed and guessed right.)   Also, Number Six, was er a fracking messing with Baltar's mind again, probably to keep us from taking the Cylons for granted in future episodes; but that plot devise is starting to get old.
