N_O_Body: Thanks and welcome back!  I like all the lemon-lime sodas (Sierra Mist, Sprite, 7up), but Sierra Mist has been my favorite for a long time. 9.gif

The temperature hasn't been so bad where I live lately.  California's heat wave has passed and moved to the Midwest.  Unfortunately they're going to have to go through the same heat we faced during the past few weeks. 14.gif

N_O_Body: 1937? So you saw World War II? I hope I gat the dates right 48.gif

ky72x: Yeah, it hit the midwest hard. It's over a hundred here right now. Just think, in a few months it will be hovering near 10 degrees 32.gif

EDIT:

Okay, something kinda creepy just happened to me. I was browsing the forums and looked over at the far right of the forum name where it has a (random?) thread from the forum with the name of the person with the most recent post there. I was surprised to see my screen name at a place calle The Imperial Kaiser of Berlin. 46.gif I have never heard of it, nor posted there!! And when I went to look what the post was, there was no post with my name!!What's going on here?

N_O_Body:  Maybe they saw people talking to their pets (like Nerd_Guy's Uncle Jack) and gave them reason to think it.  Telepathic eh?  That's what makes it seem so efficient...

Nerd_Guy: Crazy  thing I saw a month ago... Well, sometimes a lot of wind where I live.. and one day I saw what looked like a Wal-Mart plastic sack just cruzing along it's merry way about 30 feet over the top of my neighborhood.  I watched until it floated out of view.  Maybe it was lost, but it didn't seem to care.

MsD: You're squirrel can really bust a move.  It's hilarioius.  Is that what he does when he gets a fresh supply of nuts?

Nerd_Guy:  As Der Fuhrer says, "Ja, du habst richt".  WW II was over when I was 8 years old.  I guess I was in grade 3 at the time.  Of course, then we had the occupation, the Iron Curtain, the Cold War, the Korean War (a lot of friends got a case of "gone to Korea"), and so on.  Now we have Mr. Bush's war.  The yanks do keep the pot boiling.  I see you have discovered that we are sometimes afflicted by Gremlins here.

MsD:  We have a six-foot chain-link fence around the yard (to keep our leaping setter in), and the squirrels usually sit up on the top rail stripping the hull of the nuts.  This leave a pile of green hull fragments at the foot of the fence where they stopped for dinner.

Jacky, here is your coffee.  Enjoy.  It only gives you energy for a short time, so have some of these Lassy Mogs with it.

s.i.X:  Nernei, nernie, nernie, nernie .... welcome to the twilight zone.

ROFL The computer edited my last post LOL!!! It's a landmark in Chicago and even SC4! Oh this is hilarious!

Oh yeah, forgot N_O_Body was Canadian for a while... Yes, we do seem to be in a lot of wars. Everyone is mad at Bush for being in Iraq. We have the firepower to take at the terrorists, but it would be unethical (nukes). One more of their leaders should do it. 2 down, one to go. I hate politics, so I'll stop talking lol

I got back from playing golf an hour ago. Since this is only my second game, we don't keep score. I got a double-bogie on the last hole. That means 2 strokes over par. Pretty good for a beginer. 4.gif

Golf?  Sweet.  Over the past 2-3 years I've been taking lessons.  I don't think I've ever played a full game before, so you're off to a good start. 9.gif

I haven't been here for a long time.. so I'll have another Sierra Mist - since my mom didn't buy any more at Albertsons... 15.gif

I've never had a lesson. Just what my dad shows me at the driving range.  It was 99 degrees the whole time. 26.gif I hate this heat wave. It's going to rain here tomorrow soon, so it should cool off. It's 105 in my garage now and my room is on top of it.

Golf....the last time I played golf, I stood by and watched as one of my companions caused so much damage to the green (not out of vandalism, but out of extremely poor play) the owner of the club tacked a nice, large charge onto his fee. I'm glad I wasm't on the same hole as him at the time...

I wouldn't worry about the heat. I'm sure there will be complaints about the cold in a few months, just like every other year. 2.gif

I cannot stand golf. It's too slow for me. I'm one of those fast-action kind of guys. Which may explain why I'm in love with hockey. Speaking of which, we won our last regular season game, 5-2. I registered a Gordie Howe Hat Trick - a goal, an assist, and a penalty. The penalty was horrible. Absolutely horrible. I got called for using a broken stick. The blade got crunched in the corner, so I fly like a bat out of Satanland to my bench. I was thinking, ' Get out of the play! Don't want to hurt anyone! ' Halfway to the bench, I get called for it. They say you have to drop it immediately . . . . . I was in the corner fighting for the ball. You expect me to drop the stick, skate away, and watch someone trip over said stick and break their arm / leg / body parts? Not I.

END rant. However, we did make the playoffs! The Cup run starts on Sunday. I'm getting my playoff beard going once again. 4.gif3.gif

Whoo-hoo.  We had a Force 6 storm tonight.  The trees were swaying down to the ground.  The juice was off for 3+ hours.  Two of my front lawn trees were destroyed.  The 20-foot spruce was snapped off about 3 feet from the ground.  The 30-foot birch, our pride and joy, was uprooted and is listing to port at about 70 degrees.  We don't think it can be saved, but the tree guys will have to be consulted.  We planted both of those trees when we moved into this new house, and it is something like losing a pet.  14.gif

Nerd_Guy:  Golf?  That is a game for old men when they can't chase girls any more.  They just chase little white balls around the countryside.

ryanb_sc4:  Playoffs?  Congratulations.  Playoff beards?  How juvenile!

ryanb_sc4: As I said before, I love playing hockey, but there are no teams to play on in my area. Otherwise I'm very bad at most other sports.

N_O_Body: Maybe in Canada....lol I'm actually pretty good at golfing. My dad is probabally the best in the county (not country, county). And the way I play can be interesting to say the least.

We haven't had a decent storm here since May. A tornado touched down and went through some farms before lifting up to go over the town. We lost power for FOUR DAYS because we sent all the extra power poles to Springfield after they got hit by 2 tornados. Couldn't play SC4 8.gif

We lost $1000+ in food in our 2 freezers too.

^^Yeah, but he has the right hair for a beard, and the correct physiognamy for such hirsute adornment.  Most hockey players don't.  You shouldn't confuse proper behaviour with copy-catting.

Ah, I see. I'm just trying to uphold a hockey tradition. Maybe I'm doing a bad job. Oh, well.

About 8:30 PM EDT this evening, it started raining here. Hard. It's been a torrential downpour ( albeit much needed ) since then. It's what - just after 11 now? Holy mackerel!

You probably are receiving the rains/storms that the Twin Cities in Minnesota received from 11pm Monday to 4 am Wednesday.

I'm just flipping the tv between AFV and the Whose Line marathon. I just ate a whole pizza, so I don't need anything here but a pepsi. I wish the Simpsons were on during the weekends. 23.gif

I should think that "Holy Macinaw" would be a better phrase under the circumstances.  We had our sou'wester two days ago, and I lost both my large front yard trees, which will be chipped up into wheel barrows about Tuesday next.  There goes 6 years of tree growing.  *sigh*.  The XYL will be singing "Casta Diva" at the next full moon.

Hi, Jacky.  Enjoy your sandwich and coke.  Mustard?

Nerd_Guy: Sorry you didn't get your rain.  It has been very hot here, and generated a super-cell.  We were lucky it wasn't a tornado, but we think it was just a microburst that whacked our trees.  Only our yard seems to have been so badly hit, but many trees were shifted a little.  Enjoy your burger and cherry coke.  Post pizza:  Enjoy your pepsi.  Strange  you should like coke and pepsi.

ky72X:  Here you go.  You know if you add some of this fresh cheese curd and some of this gravy to that you would have poutine.

N_O_Body: I drink either. I prefer Pepsi, but like both. They're all the same. I guess I'll have some cheese fries at nearly 2 am. I firured someone would get a supercell because of this heat. I personally love tornados. I wish I could train as an EMT, load up a cargo van and drive around the Midwest to film them then put that training to work. I'd never have time for that since I'm going to be either an engineer or software designer (which is strange because I know nothing of computers43.gif). Or I'd want to be in the army. It's in my blood all the way back to the American Revoloution and the Vikings Leif Ericson and eric the Red. My parents don't want me in the army though. I'd love to fly a helicopter....5.gif

Nerd_Guy: I haven't watched "The Simpons" in ages! I think the last time I saw an episode was sometime in early 2004! To be honest, I don't watch much television period. The only thing I really watch now is CNN (Does that make me a sad individual?)

N_O_Body:  " Holy Macinaw " would apply as well.  If I recall correctly, either a TSN or Leafs TV play-by-play guy uses that phrase in his calls:

Nothing for me right now. I'm working on an awesome suburbs city. The most realistic I've ever done. Anyway, I just saw something funny on tv. I'm watching World's Most Amazing Videos on Spike and I hear: "Up next, a fireworks factory explodes into a flaming fireball of flames." I wonder if the emphasised that enough...
