My game keeps crashing when I try to use a piece, could I be missing a file?

It depends on the piece, there are known problems with some pieces that provoke crashes when you get the piece close to something else, like another piece.

EDIT: AFAIK, there isn't any way to resolve this... unless anyone else here knows of a way.....

Don't move the cursor near any transit enabled lots when using puzzle pieces, that will cause a crash. (plop the puzzle pieces, then the transit enabled lots.)

Happens to me all the time, try to keep saving when your ploping puzzel pieces. Also for GLR try not puting the stations until after your done laying the rail
