Excellent work on the Pancake House. It will be a great addition to the "small" town commercial area's ... alongside an avenue or a side road through a national park ... Great BAT, well executed!

Looking great!

Any chance you could also make a smalltown-style w2w lot without those tree & grass areas?

cool!

now that is the type of architecture i like to see in simity. Darker brick, arches, no goofy mediterrian styling anywhere to be found. Looks like something pre-2000 before everything went all prefab concrete or bland themes(a CVS and a Wendy's should not look exactly alike, thats boring, though modern planners like regulations that force that 3.gif . Would go great in a more established suburban area.

BTW, if you are considering doing an HEB, could you think about doing a more modern one? Daddyo's looks like its an older one, the newer HEB's are often extremely large and tend to have outragous colors or styles , either that or they use texas limestone, no matter which way they look great.

Thank you, Nicolai S, Mulefisk, HamsterTK and MarcosMX.  I appreciate your comments.

To HamsterTK - I'll keep what you said in mind about the modern look of the HEB.

Try searching for a pic of the H-E-B in Odessa, TX. It has southwestern colors with some interesting architecture.

Here's the pic of the Pancake House I based my BAT from.  I didn't have much to work from, and I changed the brick texture.

Thank you Jacquelina - you are very sweet!

    Here's my next project .... a H-E-B grocery store - different from daddyo's.  So I thought I would do a different style.

Yes! That looks very nice. A definite download. I like the combo. of colors it really gives it the texas/southwestern look. Most H-E-Bs have a 16 pump gas station affiliated with the store in their parking lots.

    Here are the pictures Bobbo662

    servicestationvalerolw5.jpg

Instead of the Tall valero sign in the end it should be a yellow star.

    essouxbridgebefore2rz2.jpg

Instead of Esso, the word Amigo, and instead of the red canopy it should be yellow and with light at night

    shellctrym4.jpg

A C-Store like this without the three garages.

    dn10101301551vo2.jpg

the sign in yellow, without the touch free wash and instead of unleaded gas only E85 $1.099, Propane 1.199 and Natural Gas and 1.599

We certainly need more stores. HEB? Is that an American food store? I'm from Canada. I haven't heard of it. The design looks really cool. Nice choice of colors..

That HEB looks like it could be interesting. It'll definitely stand out. I look forward to seeing what you do with the colour scheme as you move away from the front.

Actually, I've made some big changes - the whole total look is different - though I tried to make it more Southwestern Style.

    Here's what I did:

    nheb01ey5.jpg

Sorchin:  I've never been to one either - they don't have them here in the East Coast (Virginia) nor in Vermont, and I lived in Washington State - and never saw them there as well.  I think they are more down n the deep south like Texas and southwestern part of the States.

St Louis Dude:  Why do them when the King of BATs (Simgoober) did those with excellence!

    Hey mate.

I think this new look will be better in game. The old version now that I look at it for a second time probably would have been too bright.. If I were you, I would fool around a bit with the mapping parameters. Try using different ones. I was surprised with the spherical perameter with my flora BAT's. It looked like crap in the scene, but when rendered it came out looking the best. Just a thought.. I'm sure it's going to look great (like the rest of your BAT's) whichever map texture you use.

    Take care my friend..

That HEB is looking awesome!!! The washington mutual in-store bank sign is a nice touch. is this from a reference photo? do you know what city that HEB is in?

btw for anyone who wonders, HEB has stores in Texas and Northern Mexico and thats about it.

However, wherever they are located they tend to dominate the grocery market, or have the best stores. They tend to be much cheaper than other grocery stores while they have much better selection than super walmart/target making them the best place to shop in lots of areas.

As for the gas station, i found one pic, interestingly enough its at the HEB in my town... Of course, the one you are batting seems a bit on the small side to have its own gas station of course it would be a nice touch...

    0dfarbo1.jpg

BTW: a picture of the actual store part of one in my town. Dont get any ideas, I hate this freaking store's architecture its so ugly....

Jacqulina and HamsterTK - thank you!  Though HamsterTK - the 24hour drug one looks interesting enough I may do it anyway 9.gif

Here's a small Verizon Substation (telephone company here in the States) that you can place in your communities.  I live in New England, in Vermont - and I notice one in a small town next to my town where I live, and thought it would be nice to have one - since I haven't seen one post on the Simtropolis.

Both the growable is 3x3 and plop lot  3x2 which hold 10 jobs - and THANKS to Swamper77 and Riptide - the Verizon Substation will spawn out a Repair Van (pic enclosed) around your neighborhood to install new phone lines into your Sim's homes or business.

Please take note  - the Verizon Repair Van can NOT be used as a U-Drive It in the game.

    Here are the pics:

Hamster ^^ isnt that the H-E-B in college station? I think it is because i remember it's unique uglyness. I wish we had one here in lubbock, were dominated by United Supermarkets.

Bobbo, I love your gas station, the smalltown feel and the retroness gets to me.

    ^^^

    yep

And I know about united, i saw the in Post once

That verizon place is awesome. Now my sims can have DSL!

Its funny, when I first saw it, and before i read that it in fact came from a model railroad, I was like, "that looks like something from a train set..."

I dunno why i hit on that, I guess to me anything 50's and normal rockwell -ish is made of plastic and in HO gauge 9.gif

I worked on trying to finish up the H-E-B store this afternoon, after I got back from my foot doctor.

Here are the day and nite shots of what I've accomplished.  I've tried to add more detail before the polycount started to climb:

The nightlight is there you can see it, but it isn't bright.  I hope it's satisfactory.
