I am using Pegs Brigantine water mod and the FMBeaches for irregular coasts pack.  everytime I go underground or save the game I get this:

it would not be so bad except that it also shows up in the region view where I need to take pics for my city journal.

I did a search and I found some older topics on this subject but there really was not much help to be found.  I was wondering if anyone had any new ideas about how to deal with this.

Looks like on the right hand shore you have the beach bug. The left hand shore may be a variation on the beach bug. I think the beach bug is to a certain extent unavoidable with all beach type lots, including the Maxis ones.

I tend to deal with it by re-saving the game. That often fixes it if it was caused by underground tools. Its not so effective if the save itself caused the problem.

However I would also be interested in anyone's thought's on the problem with the left hand shore and the fact that it appears in region view, as the bug in my game has only just started appearing in region view. I think this may be because I modified the water transparency settings.

For me, this bug appears in city view with all kinds of beaches and many water lots, but can be made to disappear by changing to underground view (click the water pipes tool) and back once more. In region view, however, the beach bug always showed for me, independent of the city view - at least with these custom beaches.

The effect on the left looks unfamiliar, though. Does it appear with different water mods, too?

Or do you have rests of other mods such as MayorBean's Ocean River Mod somewhere among your plugins?

I have also found that whenever I save the game my pretty beaches go from nice and smooth to all jagged and nontransparent. Like those before me have articulated, the only way to go back to nice and smooth is to go to the underground view and back or exit to the region view and re-open the game. The effect is visible in region view and I have found it unavoidable.

drat, I was afraid of that.  I guess I will have to ban beaches in my city.  at least jeronjis seawalls look good.  I would like to use beaches and only take pics in city view, but My CJ is about the entire region and I like to take region shots for every update.

I guess the in story explaination would be that the waters are generally too cold and no one really wants to go to a cold beach.

thanks for the replies, I guess I will uninstall the beaches too since I no longer have a use for them...

Does it do it without the water mod you have on? I'd prefer to have nice beaches over a water mod any day 1.gif
