erm... one sec I have something quite old... if 1980 is old for a PC game lol.

Now this is running the 1991 open source version of Zork compiled to run in the linux terminal.
the original game was released in 1980.  so I hope this counts.

if not here's the actual original 1981 DOS release running in modern terminal using FROTZ

Gods yes, I want to see this!  big fan of space war and the old pdp computers given they were what kickstarted the early hacker/tinkerers at MIT at the model railroad club way back when.

Hi!

My oldest game is Elder scrolls II: Daggerfall (1995). I'm really bad at playing it but it's fun, so I play it sometimes.

In case anyone's interested, it's free on Steam and it already installs DOSbox automatically.

DOSBox 0.74, Cpu speed_ 50000 cycles, Frameskip 0, Program_ FALL 27_10_2023 14_21_26.png

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible." - Frank Zappa

"The wisest men follow their own direction." - Euripides

Welcome to Fairview, my new city journal *:D
