Yesterday I discovered some very useful techniques for Photoshop to recolour textures with ease:

https://phlearn.com/tutorial/change-white-color/

https://www.bwillcreative.com/how-to-change-the-color-of-any-layer-in-photoshop/

I was able to use those guides to map out the areas of the Polish animated flag textures, part of the Maxis Day of Peace official DLC. I then used that to change the White and Red areas to Blue and Orange as shown:

Pol_Flag.jpg.7b76703e6e6d32003aced457c359048b.jpg    ----->     Ukr_Flag.jpg.629f37618f2dccb9d33bd5395ac51423.jpg

Which means, I've got a PS file now, where I can adjust the White and Red parts of the left image, to pretty much any two colours, by doing nothing more than moving a sliding scale until the colours I want appear.

Now, I must be 100% clear, I have absolutely no interest in making flags in particular and I am not offering to make every flag under the sun. I will not be taking general requests as such, please don't ask. However, if you want to see a flag that fits the very specific conditions, under which I can re-use my current template, then it would be almost no effort for me to do so and as such, I'd be happy to make them.

So, in short, I am only offering to do this for flags which contain 2 solid colours, where they are split 50/50 vertically, i.e. just like the ones you see above. If you have a request for such a flag, I'm happy to make both the animated flag for use in-game and the equivalent One Flag Many Nations support file, so you can see it on all lots supported by that mod. Again I must stress, any deviation from the two vercial solid colours is not within the scope of this offer, as soon as you need to add any details, the workload increases beyond that which I am willing to take on. But, on the off chance your needs are within the parameters outlined, well it's your lucky day!

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

I attempted years ago to do an animated version of the New Zealand flag, which is why I had a paper printout of Geoffhaw Animated Flag instructions printed off, and can confirm the amount of work involved in creating a new animated flag is considerable, which is why I was very relieved when Geoffhaw created a NZ Flag for me and my fellow NZers (its on the STEX as he give permission for it to be uploaded there).

    Yeah, I'm not getting into that, but re-skinning one is not so terrible using the method I did, but it's limited to solid colours and my specific template further to the particulars mentioned above.

    In a few hours you could do the same provided an existing flag was a suitable template for the one you wanted, for example three solid colours vertically or 2 or 3 solid colours horizontally.

    But as soon as you need to add a single detail or go outside of such limits, you can't cheat things anymore and will have to update 200 flag textures manually, which at the level of the lower zooms, would just be a nightmare. Frankly at this point if I wanted a flag badly, I'd skip the animation part and make a static one as a regular BAT, it's way quicker.

    But indeed, recently messing with PEG's OFMN and other mods, it was only when I stumbled upon the NZ Flag that the idea I could re-skin one popped into my head.
