New guy with game crashes

Hi people, new guy here.

I have SimCity 4 deluxe, did the addons, and it crashes.  I have steam.  Tried to follow tutorials on youtube, thought I had it.  No I didn't.  Could anyone talk me through it in very layman terms, step by step, please. I tried the network addon mod(NAM), 4gb patch, sc4 fix.  It crashed back to the steam 'play' screen.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A few things that might help to diagnose your situation. At what point does the game quit? Does it make it into the game at all? Or does it quit before getting to the region screen? Is NAM the only plugin you've installed and have you confirmed the patch was applied? If this wasn't one of the videos you've seen (link), you might check it out for NAM installation assistance. Lastly, if you are a multi-core system, have you inserted the -CPUcount:1 to your shortcut command line?

Hi Capt, thanks for your response.  I was trying to install NAM 39 without success.  Since then I tried to install NAM 40....successfully.  So I am good to go...although...I am sure I will have more questions in the future.
