Is it possible to creat a Tunnel trough the Mountains? Sure it is, but i would like to see the Streets, like they are... on the Ground.

My first tryes... it ends alway at the Top of the Mountains.

Yup, the tunnel can’t extend beyond the border, somewhere there needs to be a actual NC, so whilst you can hide it, there will be a bump somewhere for the actual connection. Unless you use a subway converter lot, then you can create an invisible NC using subway.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

You have to make a level notch in the mountain at the exact same point on the grid as where the road is. And on the side of the tile you are connecting. It will connect without being seen. BTW, hit G when you take a pic. It looks better.

I don’t really understand your need to ensure Freight or Pedestrian traffic is supported, at the expense of a better visual transition. To me, the way to go is Subway converter lots, then on either side, it’s essentially just a single tunnel. Freight only ever leaves cities, it doesn’t enter them. So provided you’ve another NC for that, using such setups has no negatives.

I never worked with the Subway. So i do not have a clue,  how to use it. But, like you know, i like to see Freight to pass any kind of Network. Thats realistik. I never saw an Underpass, thats only for Cars and Buses works... (ok, we got some in Germany, but not that much). My Point is, every thing can use Flups, Tunnels, Bridges... If they wont let Freight pass away, i wont build em... that easy it is ;-)

That's what you're supposed to get. Disguise it with some trees or rocks.

Subways are for pedestrian traffic, and usually one of the most expensive transport systems. You don't build them at the start(unless you're using cheat money), usually when you've got surplus cash and you want to go on a spending spree. They go in just like the plumbing. You can also make street-less cities with them. Best transport for industry is usually seaports, rail or highway depending on the terrain.

Right, but your own inflexibility is preventing you from doing things better. My advice would be to try and remain a little more open-minded, look what you can do with Subways:

    SubwayNC_Tunnel.jpg.c54952b99fec93e05629a2f79fe531b3.jpg

That's a NC which on the other side comes out through a very similar mountain to your example. I show this side because there is no mountain in the way, so it's a bit clearer. Here I'm using a HSR -> Subway Tunnel Portal, since HSR only supports Passenger Traffic, nothing has been lost either. But similar items exist for use with various networks, my freight simply finds another way and my cities look nicer for it. Just a thought... I'll stop my nagging now sir :P
